Nice.. lots of stuff there! Oops forgot.. my accomplishment isn't very exciting. Typed 500 words for my next book. Got 1.5 exercises done. Wrote description of exercise, how to perform, how to incorporate into different types of workouts, how to make them easier, how to make them harder.

Extreme Ways of Obtaining Accountability.. Any Ideas?

    HOT! IDEA
Ok done. It was a flawless 15 minutes. I was motivated by not looking like a loser. I couldn't come here and say I didn't do anything and I'm not just going to lie on a forum about being productive. I felt accountable to something. I've done that twice. The list is under my bed. I'm not sure...

Funny you mention that.. I had a calendar taped to my wall and would check off every day that I did what I was supposed to.. wrote out all my goals, etc. Now I'm not doing that, and I know I should, just as you said. I write my goals on a whiteboard, but the checkmark schedule is gone, and as I...

Extreme Ways of Obtaining Accountability.. Any Ideas?

    HOT! IDEA
That's a good point about the check thing, but if it's a big enough sum of money it would make it so that I CAN'T fail, otherwise I'm screwed. It would force me to stay up all night if need be. The one problem I see is that what if I find out half way through my idea isn't viable or the market I...

I need a shark chomping at my a$$. I need to be swimming in the ocean at night with the whirling of a monster Great White's tail behind me signaling imminent doom if I don't swim as fast as possible. My ideas so far: 1. Give a family member or friend a check for $200 and have them cash it if I...

Don't agree with Elliot's answer. That "slavery" could be the thing that sets you free from everything in a couple years.

Is everything "entertainment" a waste of time?

    EXECUTION
Used to be the case for me as well.. I was just having too much caffeine.. at least an energy drink a day + 2 scoops of a pre-workout.. It's also why I would wake up every morning with a light headache. Maybe this isn't the case with you, but I had to take a break for about 10 days. After the...

Value is relative in my eyes. If your stuff makes other people happy, you are providing value. Are energy drinks good for you? Nope. But I still drink them and feel like Monster is providing me with value; otherwise, I wouldn't pay for it.

That's pretty amazing, actually. I don't get excited for too many things, but this has a lot of relevance for myself and a lot of other people here. Plus, the workings of Amazon are somewhat of a mystery, so I'm definitely looking forward to hearing some of his/her insight.

***SPOILERS*** I listened to the whole thing. Here are my thoughts :) 1. I got pretty bored during the "worst 8 jobs" bit. I just felt it was a bit too long. I would click on an article about it, but I would quickly skim just to see what the jobs were. I was waiting to hear useful things that...

Anyone using "on demand" employment to fuel their Fastlane?

    EXECUTION
I suppose writing for content mills would be on-demand. It took a while to work my way up to a higher pay grade, but I'm making what I need to pay the bills with about 4 hours of my time per day. The workload varies... some days there might not be much posted and I can only make $20 that day...

Good point about the spelling thing; I didn't think of that. I'm impatient as well, and you're right—adding 24-72 hours between submissions could become a nightmare if you're constantly getting denied. I suppose it doesn't really matter how small the barrier to entry is anyways, because the...

I'm not sure what's so obscene about guideline submissions to you. If you can't follow directions or don't know what went wrong, you troubleshoot it. Try forums or anything you use to troubleshoot. I just think a barrier to entry of 1 instead of 0 would weed out a lot of the junk. Maybe that...

Advantage for who? The people who can't put out a coherent book? Yes. I just think there should be some kind of quality control, but it makes sense that Amazon wouldn't want it that way so they can squeeze out every little sale they can. As far as getting a book rejected and not knowing why...
