Thoughts on the board game niche?

I started a puzzle business, which is a quite a bit different from board games, but I am a board game nut and considered starting my own board games before. The biggest issue right now it seems is that shipping costs are getting absurd and the general attitude from developers in the market is...

    Automated Pizza making

Automation doesn't necessarily mean pre-packaged or mass-produced. Pre-packaged and mass produced foods have unique issues that tend to affect quality - namely shelf stability, price sensitivity, etc. If you want something as cheap as possible, you use lower quality foods and fillers and...

Where can i find E-Commerce stores?

Please be up front about your experience level to any businesses you approach. I'd be downright livid if I hired an "email marketer" who was representing themselves as a professional, but then found out they had zero experience and was cutting their teeth by experimenting with my brand and...

Where can i find E-Commerce stores?

What need are you solving for them? There's a lot of advice in books and online that say to reach out to businesses and ask them what they need solved, and build a business around that answer - but that's terrible advice. Nobody with a business is going to sit there thinking about how...

    Automated Pizza making

What I'm surprised about is how many of these devices are trying to mimic how humans work in a normal human kitchen instead of redesigning the process with robots in mind. It's like they are trying to use a robot to replace a human instead of using robotics to redesign the kitchen. The wok...

    Automated Pizza making

Always loved this quote: "The factory of the future will have only two employees, a man and a dog. The man will be there to feed the dog. The dog will be there to keep the man from touching the equipment."

Competitor has patented my "idea" for a product. What now?

    IDEA
Patents are their own whole thing and pessimistically speaking - whoever has the most money tends to win. That being said - patents can be invalidated. One of the more common ways to do this is to claim prior art or claim that their patent is "obvious". Prior art basically means finding a...

Not ready..Will I ever be ready? Is there ever a perfect time??? F it. I’m doing it. I QUIT.

    INTRO
You quit, yet you're only at the "bounce ideas around" stage? I hope you have a hell of a nest egg to pull from because this sounds like a recipe for disaster. I quit my job when my business was already earning 75% of my day-job income and I still believe that the #1 reason that I failed was...

Uninstalled every other game, can't quit Counter-Strike

    HOT! MINDSET
Games are an escape. They are the path of least resistance for your mind to either flee from something, or to obtain something it's missing. I've been a gamer my entire life and I can honestly say that when life is good - I play very little. When life is shit - I play too much. When...

    How to stop procrastinating

    MINDSET
For what it's worth, I've always struggled with motivation and procrastination DESPITE an intense desire for action. I wasn't avoiding things I didn't want to do - I was avoiding things I DID want to do. It was mentally very difficult - like the gears in my head were grinding and smoking...

Am I too dumb for this?

    MINDSET
Business math can be done on a play-school calculator. You're smart enough. As you get bigger and grow and get started you add a lot of extra line items to the list, but it's all just addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Your product costs $5 and you want 100 of them? 5 x 100...

Buying a Franchise - How to Make it SUPER Fastlane and Make MEGA Millions.

Franchises are an avenue to wealth - no doubt there. But do keep in mind that the reason you see franchise owners owning multiple locations is because you can't go very far with just a single location. It's also the only way to scale that idea. Also, take a look at franchise requirements...

    Question about joint venturing

    MARKETING
The barrier to entry for your idea may be low but the barrier to entry for exceptional execution is ALWAYS high. In your camera example, the way you ensure that the camera store doesn't steal your idea is you be so absurdly good at giving photography workshops that copying you will seem like...

Either I don't misunderstood your niche idea (quite possible), or you haven't really looked into this very far. Nutritional supplements is one of the most competitive, branded, and advertised niche on the internet. Right up there with skincare (which I was in and very happily got out of)...

What do you think about a vegan shoes brand for Men

It doesn't really matter what we think - it's what your target audience thinks. Also, like everything - it's the execution that matters. If you launch your vegan shoe brand on a website that looks like it time-warped from 1997, do half-assed advertising, have an ugly product, cut corners on...

Is Calorie Counting model really flawed?

    HOT! HEALTH
Ehhh.... it's called "indigestible fiber" for a reason. It's extremely common to subtract insoluble fiber from calorie counts because it literally isn't absorbed by your body. It passes right through, which is why it's great for folks who need to increase bowel movement frequency - that's...

    Have a little problem partnering

    PEOPLE
I'm pretty firmly against 50% partnerships in most cases and even more firmly against getting into business with family, generally speaking. 50/50 means neither of you have overriding authority over each other which gives arguments and disagreements like this literally no place to go. In...

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread

    HOT! CHAT
I've had a few "Impossible" this and "Beyond" that burgers, usually because a vegan brought a 4 pack to a BBQ and only actually wanted 1 of them. IMHO, the taste is almost a dead ringer for a turkey burger.
