A guide to validating your business idea in a weekend or less

    IDEA
Glad it was of help to you. Products/subscription models can be validates easily, any day. You just create the page/MVP, ask people to pay for your product or service and see whether they are willing to. Things get a lot more complicated when you are trying to create something where there is...

Thanks for the tailored feedback Lex. +rep. It's amazing the kind of detail you infer from the client's writing style. Let me get back from a 3 day conference that is gonna keep me busy all day and I am going to put all your feedback into action. I will work on both mindset and technicalities...

    EXECUTION
Yes, it's very likely that some inner issue is holding me back, as I am still not very confident in my web dev skills. Plus, the cynic in me keeps thinking, every time I apply, that there is really no reason to choose me. Because of my extra attention towards the client? This is also true for at...

Thought Experiment: WWYD in Your Post Powerball Euphoria?

    HOT! PEOPLE
Work/invest in order to advance technological innovation and especially biotechnology. I want to see a few biological applications that are currently unthinkable, before I die.

Update on what I have been up to : After replying to Lex's post, I realized that I should really give Upwork a decent chance. It's clear that my skills as a developer are not at the level I want, so what better than getting paid to learn through small projects? So I made it my goal to make at...

I can build any SaaS product, and make $ $, but I cant get through my own mind to the next level.

    SAAS / APPS INTRO
Damn! Powerful introduction. Not sure why but your post made me feel very sympathetic towards your situation. I can't understand (and I won't try to) why you have an almost ready product but you won't launch. Nevertheless, it's awesome that you have reached a solid level as a developer and this...

    SaaS How important is layout

    SAAS / APPS EXECUTION
Absolutely, for the beginning validation stage don't worry about it too much. Any website that doesn't look too ugly will do. Pick whatever you know best and will make it quicker for you. Even Wordpress, and then you can transition to a proper custom app. I have changed the front-end of my web...

Appreciate your input Lex! I have tried to bid on some small projects on Upwork. Unsuccessfully, but admittedly I never made it my no1 priority and focus so that doesn't say much. Before I spend a lot of time on UpWork I think I need to establish my skills. I have no degree in web dev, no...

Time for a mind-dump. Update on the projects I am currently balancing; Web app: Every time I make a step forward with my web app, it's like I have to take another step backwards. Specifically, I was paying for the data for my website on a monthly basis. It didn't even occur to me that this was...

    Potential product feedback

There are chemicals that can almost completely sterilize a whole room after you vaporize them. However they are toxic and require a lot of airing before the room is habitable again. Keep in mind that disinfection has various levels and it's a matter of relativity. You may be able to design a...

Building a SaaS based on Wordpress?

    HOT! SAAS / APPS
+1 Wordpress only if you want an MVP/Validation. If you have validation and you are sure what you want out of the app, go with a custom build that will keep your backend open to any future addon/improvement. You might want to find another developer. Shop around and get multiple quotes! You...

Finally, after months of learning & coding, a bootstrapped, basic version of my web app is now live. Rewarding moment to have something tangible. I should note that I have been sidetracked and delayed because I undertook an unpaid coding project at a startup in order to hone my newly acquired...

I got an idea to start. What do you think about it?

    HOT! IDEA
Without having seen designs/products it's impossible to evaluate whether something like that would work. Make your life easy ; get some designs from him, put some product designs together, throw up an online shop (i.e. shopify), buy some advertising to drive customers there and see if people...

Thank you for taking the time to write in my thread MJ. I appreciate it. I think there is definitely something about certain personalities that resonates with coding, which is essentially a way of staying in and solving problems alone . I am currently actively coding my website. It's insane the level of knowledge you can purchase on Udemy for a few bucks... I am very happy that I went with the bootstrapping option instead of outsourcing the development. Worst case scenario, I will have added web development to my skillset. The...

Very cool, I am going to follow this thread. I don't know what's your opinion on learning too many technologies at the begininning?? I just finished a course teaching the MEAN stack, and I want to go deep with it and learn it very well instead of diluting my focus by learning other languages /...
