My Journey to Becoming a Web Developer and Beyond
EXECUTIONExcellent! Surprisingly, I found it actually easier to get an entry-level job where you get paid to learn essentially (just emailed startups offering to help with some of their tickets) rather than freelancing from the get-go. I've come to believe that freelancing is better suited to when you...- Galactic_travel

Creating an insulin company from scratch
EXECUTIONI mean anything that fixes the problem instead of addressing the symptom, i.e. gene therapy or another, new concept. Why do we have to constantly inject insulin instead of getting the body to re-make it?- Galactic_travel

Creating an insulin company from scratch
EXECUTIONI hate to shoot down your idea but there are 2 problems: 1) The numbers are off. The manufacturing cost you have cited, even if true, certainly doesn't take into account all the investment that has gone into manufacturing and selling. 2) To manufacture and take another insulin product to the...- Galactic_travel

A journey to freedom from alarm clocks
EXECUTION2020 update; still not giving up, still trying. I have a high-paying daytime job that's moving towards becoming fully remote. I have launched a website prototype for a SaaS (sort of) aimed at University professors. Getting my first paying customer has been a struggle. I've had 2 near misses...- Galactic_travel

A fundamental question for any entrepreneur: What do I want from my business?
NOTABLE!Really good thread, and with good timing as I've been thinking about this a lot. I've tried at least 3 'lifestyle' businesses. All of them didn't make a single $. I did have some success with freelancing but I am nowhere near good enough to make full-time income from it. My plan was to make...- Galactic_travel

New website
EXECUTIONGreat start, I was pleasantly surprised as I expected these belts to be a lot more expensive! I'll leave product comments to people with more experience, just one thing: Soon, you will want to use your own domain, i.e. "evermore-belt.com", so that customers don't see the "myshopify.com". It's...- Galactic_travel

How do I code this? Technical advice needed for web development (highly technical thread)
Thanks for stopping by. I see your point about StackOverflow, given the strong presence of developers in this forum I thought it wouldn't hurt... 1. Will DM 2. I understand the differences but I do not understand how to approach this using multiple sites. I know how to point a domain to a...- Galactic_travel

How do I code this? Technical advice needed for web development (highly technical thread)
Hi there I am looking to code a web app so that it becomes automated (currently I have to do everything manually). I have entry-level knowledge of the MEN stack so I would prefer to code on this. Here is what the niche website-building app has to achieve: User fills a form with a chosen...- Galactic_travel

Free wordpress plugin - is this useful for you?
My first thought was that there must be 10 plugins like this already. But it looks really clean and technically sound, so don't let the existence of others stop you. Why not submit anyway? You have made it already so even if forum members don't find it interesting other WP users maybe will...- Galactic_travel

An Excel Course?
HOT! EXECUTIONI suppose it's quite hard to explain without seeing the actual sheet. Basically, a sheet with ~2000 rows contains different products. Which products are included changes frequently based on news/updates resulting in deletions/insertions. Clients just look at the output. When I first joined, I...- Galactic_travel

An Excel Course?
HOT! EXECUTIONSounds good. In my new day job as an Analyst I'm using excel a lot and I've been thinking about getting the company to pay for a more advanced course. I recommend creating a guide that shows how to solve particular problems by going through a project. The typical youtube guides that just go...- Galactic_travel

What will you accomplish in 2020? <-- Well did u?
EXECUTIONWent back and checked the 2018 declaration and was pleased to find that I achieved the vast majority of them. This year I am going to keep it a lot simpler. - Business: The prototype is pretty much finished. Get one paying customer, improve the prototype and get more customers. - Relationships...- Galactic_travel
