Hi Michael, welcome aboard! Be sure to put your review of MJ's book in the "I've read" thread, and the profile badge to show you've read it will automatically show up for you soon. I have an idea about specialized marketing consulting for restaurants. I put in the Speedway part of the forum...

HOW TO OVERCOME YOUR STRUGGLES AND ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

    MINDSET
The post is pretty much useless for a forum that's built around the work of a guy who literally included Fastlane in the title of his best selling book, and who in both his books provides roadmaps to help people find success. It's a really simplistic take on what MJ covers in a far more...

How to get your first 4-figure client?

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Nice job! So be sure to include Art Director and Copywriter in your description of yourself. And to include line items for Art Direction/Photography and Copywriting in your next proposal!

    W/C 14-May-18

Thank you for asking, Andy! I want to make my first marketing consulting (web design/hosting and/or copywriting) sale for at least $2,000, with at least 50% profit, by the end of this month of May, 2018. An alternative success would be for me to make a total of at least $2,000, with at least...

How to get your first 4-figure client?

Your costs that went into it don't matter. A car maker doesn't set the sticker price on the car to show it has so many pounds of steel, so many hours of wiring, and took so many labor hours to build. If you were dealing with people who knew how to direct a web geek by the hour to get a site...

This should be an Instagram meme of the day, and on a poster hanging in every entrepreneur's office!

Can you show an example of the type of e-commerce functionality you mean? Did you build a store front with shopping cart, merchant account integration, inventory level updates in realtime etc.? I'm trying to figure how much sophistication is needed on the e-commerce side to sell these kind of...

How to get your first 4-figure client?

I'll probably get some people trashing me for this conclusion, but after reconsidering the gig sites, I feel that for me, they put too much Control outside of my own hands compared to finding a way to build my own lead generation funnel that runs through my own site. A lot higher cost of entry...

GREAT topic for a great thread! That's a nice web site, Jason. Basic but has a professional, up to date look to it. Did the client have the photos and text ready for you, or did you take the shots and do the copywriting yourself?

Too old to be an entrepreneur, a little late in the game at 35? I was sick for long time.

    Q. If you're so smart, why aren't you rich? A. Because I've spent most of my life being smart about things other than, how to apply my smarts to what can make me rich!

Interesting comment. How many of these unrequested proposals include a free trial period at no risk to you, and then a reduced price in exchange for sharing new profits generated by the improved marketing?

Also, your previous picture is used in the ads for the forum that are shown on the forum, including to people who are not forum members. My profile pic is shown with the headline of a post that I only responded to but didn't write (I made a humorous remark about this in the off topic thread...

How to Recreate an Elite Ivy-League MBA Education at Home

Accounting means being aware of when, where, and how the money is coming in to the business, and when, where, and how the money is going out of the business. Isn't this obviously useful for any business owner to know? Sure you could delegate the details, but it would be very useful to know...

Consulting for Businesses that are broke

Why is this necessary? Unless you'll be funded by charitable donations and grants, why not simply charge enough to make a profit? Nonprofits are allowed to buy from for-profit vendors too, as long as they get good value for things that relate to their mission.

If only there was a way that someone could somehow put together a web site for people who would like to ride in a fancy car. It could provide black car service. Maybe it could even handle inquiries for people who would like to ride in limousines. Perhaps it could even be called limos.com.

    Financial Literacy

I just meant that rather than looking for one particular specialized question about an area of accounting, it seemed that he was asking for guidance about just about everything involved in how you read the numbers.

She referred to organizations that can't complete their mission because they have a catastrophic lack of funding. That would rule out both the Red Cross and FEMA, wouldn't it? Great suggestion about conventions, that's a great way to get known in any field!

How to Recreate an Elite Ivy-League MBA Education at Home

I've seen similar lists, and have done my own self-education through most of the standard MBA curriculum. I think you are missing a couple other things about the MBA program: With a lot of money and reputation at stake, and a need to get a related job to pay off the student loans, there's...
