What are the Best Sales Books that You Guys Have Read?

    MARKETING
SPIN Selling by Neil Rackham. This isn't a new-age feel good book that wastes your time with attitude and motivation. It's a no-nonsense "how-to" textbook for how to structure a sales call INCLUDING sample calls. Here's two completely random pages I opened up to, to give you an idea...

Tin Foil Hat Time: Are Aliens Here?

    HOT! CHAT
Also worth noting that sleep paralysis is an excellent "occam's razor" explanation for most night time alien abduction / visitation stories. These experiences can be highly realistic, extremely emotional, scary beyond words, and are accompanied quite often by total body paralysis. They don't...

Tin Foil Hat Time: Are Aliens Here?

    HOT! CHAT
Fermi's Paradox (and the possible solutions to it) fascinate me. I was going to type out a long post about it but then found a video in 2 short parts (plus one that dives deeper into the great filter) that does a much better job than I would do: View...

What book (besides TMF and Unscripted) was your game change ??

    BOOKS
Totally hated this book. It read like a "pop" rehash of far better books that was trying a little too hard to be edgy. It probably did so well specifically because of this reason, but if you are AT ALL familiar with self-improvement material, I'd personally say this is an easy, easy pass.

There is no such thing as talent.

    MINDSET
Yeah I agree. As fleshy meat sacks, genetics (and such) are unfortunately a thing in life. Some people are naturally gifted at certain things. You can't help that, but you also shouldn't deny it. It just "is". Of course, that should never stop you from taking action and persevering -...

What book (besides TMF and Unscripted) was your game change ??

    BOOKS
I got started down the path of financial independence and thinking differently about money from other people with this book as well. It's 100% a slow-lane book but it's also probably one of the best books for slowlaners out there. Hell, I saved literally thousands buying a new car using just...

Write down your goals... Quick life tip with story...

    MINDSET
I've been wanting to get into real estate for years, although it's always been a "one day" goal. Late 2018 I wrote down, and internally committed to, the goal of buying my first rental by the end of 2019. Honestly things haven't been all that great for me for a while now so I made this...

Stay-at-home dad with a $100k budget to start a side business while parenting. What business do you recommend?

    SIDE HUSTLE
The problem is that choosing a business to start isn't at all like picking the best brand of bicycle or breed of dog. With those things you can give a few criteria, a budget, and enthusiasts can lead you down a few possible paths that make sense for you. In business - it doesn't work like that...

Guy Jumps at Amazon's Delivery Business Offer - 8 Months in, 112 Employees and 50 Trucks

I have to imagine it's hard to scale like that without learning a thing or two about entrepreneurship, business, and success along the way. I'd be willing to bet there's a lot of cross-transferable skills he's picked up with this decision. Hopefully he breaks free from Amazon and does...

Looking for advice "How to Start Side Hustle, Exercise, Me Time while holding Full time Job"

    INTRO
I'd personally swap this around to: 5 am: Wake up. Put your alarm across the room to force you out of bed to turn it off. No snoozing. Turn your alarm off, go immediately to the kitchen, grab a large glass of water, drink it all, then grab your coffee and whatever else. 5:30 am: Go...

Somebody Sell Me on "Fastlane Insiders"

    MINDSET
IMHO you need a total mindset shift. You're quick to cut expenses but slow to invest in yourself for growth. You can only cut your expenses to zero but you can invest in yourself and grow without any cap. Which do you think makes sense to spend the most time on? 3 months will cost you...

Which are some books to get my feet wet into ... how do I call this

Also - check out "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values" It's very philosophical, highly engaging, thought provoking and a great overall read. Regularly pops up on the "best of" lists all the time. If you're worried about the title, this is what the author has to...

Which are some books to get my feet wet into ... how do I call this

A little piece of advice with Meditations: there are multiple translations. With all translated work, there are folks who adamantly fight over which version they consider better, more pure, etc... I know there are multiple but really the argument with this book boils down to this: do you...

Be aware of this before buying from Cheap-UPC-Barcode.com

Fun little fact about GS1 (at least Canada) - they charge you $150 to cancel (almost like charging another year's worth of service for trying to leave) and their customer support is beyond useless. I had to cancel because my most recent business wasn't working out, so I called to cancel and was...

Buzzfeed: Tony Robbins accused of sexual misconduct

    OFF-TOPIC
Buzzfeed produces sensationalism and divisiveness, that's it. They've been the garbage fire of media outlets (I dare not say "news organization") for years and years now. The only reason they get any attention is because: 1. They cater to the kinds of people who WANT their stories to be true...

Game of Thrones Season 8 Thread (SPOILERS)

    OFF-TOPIC
To be fair though, Bran wasn't strictly needed. This could have easily been written to show Samwell discovering this himself through books, which kind of happened anyway. Was it, though? His lineage didn't end up actually mattering in any way that made a meaningful difference. - The north...

I'm starting a real estate photography side business and could use some tips

Out of curiosity - did your pamphlets only (or mainly) focus on the photography aspects? Everyone loves a good before and after photo, but that's not what a realtor is buying with your service - they are buying a higher asking price, a quicker rental turnaround, increasing their "reputation" as...

Game of Thrones Season 8 Thread (SPOILERS)

    OFF-TOPIC
It was a bad ending to a bad season, so at least they were consistent... If it's been one thing I've been saying this season it's that I didn't mind the major plot points - only their execution (rushed, etc), but this last episode... wow. I won't comment on everything, but I will mention the...

    Florida Teachers Can What?

    RANT
I don't think that's true at all. For starters - the poll isn't really "fair" in the first place. It's more of a "push poll" that is clearly worded to encourage one answer over another. If the poll was created to encourage the opposite answer, it might be worded: "Where would you rather live...
