How do you get users to a site that needs users?

    WEB/DIGITAL
https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome I have seeded projects with workers from here. timed with press releases, emails to JV lists. Its a classic problem. Some sites give away ipads, laptops and more to get visitors.

Start up brainstorm (outside the box thinking exercise)

Start earlier in the game than the other people and help the seller target the likely buyers (thinking of mergers & acquisitions mainly), then help the seller adjust their business model to mesh better with the potential buyer(s). That should boost the sales price and get you a bigger commission.

I Work In a Digital Ad Agency Ask Me Anything

    MARKETING AMA
No confusion on my part at all. I have high traffic and ad impressions, and I want to get more into direct sales with Pharma advertisers. I want to be one of the sites they can go to directly. Trying to figure out how to be the pretty girl at the dance. Already involved with many networks.

I Work In a Digital Ad Agency Ask Me Anything

    MARKETING AMA
Hi Vic, I am a publisher in the Health niche. What kind of monthly ad views do networks want to see for segmented niches? If a pharma has an ad for a prostate drug, and they are looking to put their ads on prostate health related pages, how many ad views is "enough"? We are doing some work...

Three years ago I would have agreed, but now Wordpress plugins are equal if not superior to Joomla.

There are several Amazon plugins for wordpress that are excellent. WP Zon Builder is one.

Is the balance of power for ads shifting to publishers?

    WEB/DIGITAL
As rerun stated, Google killed arbitrage, they didn't like people playing their game better than they did, so they changed the game. Only the biggest publishers, or networks of sites have any leverage. I serve about 7 million ads a month, direct sales are really tough because I am not big...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
That WAS the reason for the post, I saw several posts that had people saying exactly that. I don't know how to code, I am going to take a few months to learn and do the project myself, or worse, newbies coming in and people telling them that they will learn 95% of what they need to know about...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
I just said, that is NOT what I am talking about. :bgh: I am talking to all the people that want to write their project or app from scratch and think that they will have the skills to undertake such a project with a few months of study. That is a waste of time, they will not have the...

    "Own Nothing, Control Everything"

    HOT!
Think about the publishing business, they own the RIGHTS to distribute someone else's work. Realtors have the rights to sell a house or a building that they don't own for a commission. Shipping business, someone may own (or have the rights to) a specific route, or docking space, then lease...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
This is NOT what I am talking about. I am not a lawyer, but I can tweak a contract. But I won't write one from scratch. I am not an accountant, but I can make a journal entry. I didn't spend months trying to learn those skills, they came along as I had more and more experience in business...

    Ebook Formatting, Editing

    PUBLISHING
I go to Elance and have a professional graphic designer style my ebooks. You can also hire editors from Elance or Guru.com to edit your book. Microsoft word has spell checking and grammar checking built in. Your book is going to get stolen, it will not be stolen by people likely to buy your...

Learning to Program is STUPID! (or SMART?!)

    GOLD! HOT!
I STRONGLY disagree. That was true before 2003, it isn't anymore. People won't tolerate shabby, buggy code. Hackers will feast on it.

Is associate-o-matic a good way to get started ?

    WEB/DIGITAL
It is an excellent program! I used it for several years. Getting indexed with it is tough as it really looks like duplicate content, but with time/effort you can get there. The biggest problem is name recognition, if people want to shop, they are going to go straight to Amazon, Walmart, Best...
