I read many emails. Depends on how each person/brand manages to engage reader. Not as easy as 'just have an email list'. But it is simple concept..

Good Numbers from KU.. How are yours?

    PUBLISHING
I don't see that short fiction writers are getting stiffed at all.. it's their choice to write short instead of long.. no one else's. Payment rate doesn't differ either.. I like it at the moment. Per-page is fair payment, for both short and long fiction.. I do agree it will get worse probably...

Good Numbers from KU.. How are yours?

    PUBLISHING
Hey guys, just read this article about payments from Kindle Unlimited and that was a great positive surprise. I'm not a huge fan of putting eggs in one basket but this seems like a can't miss thing now (while the payment levels per page are at this rate). Here is the article and some others in...

How often do Authors use Designers?

    FTE PUBLISHING
Thank you! Didn't see it but it's basically that, just niched down. Design Possum is actually way more expensive than what I think or what Design Pickle.. But some authors mentioned they don't have enough volume needed for these so I'm interested in feedback from more authors.

How often do Authors use Designers?

    FTE PUBLISHING
Hello folks! Hope you're doing well and enjoying summer! Got a question! How often do you hire designers? I'm thinking of launching a design service for authors where they can get 10 or 20 small designs (banners, soc. media images, headers, bookmarks, biz cards etc) for a monthly fee. So...

I suggest you study Nathan Barry and how he sold his non-fiction books without Amazon. He didn't use Gumroad but he did succeed amazingly with selling them.. And he has good articles/podcast episodes about it. Dig a bit in his blog archives at www.nathanbarry.com

Advertising: To Pay or Not To Pay

I agree BUT before that your businesses' economics come to play. You can't make PPC work on almost every network if you charge 99 cents or other low prices. For books, some made FB work at $3.99 but anything under that is really really unlikely. More authors had success getting people to their...

What are you selling? For how much? And what is your Funnel/Upsells? First answer these and then we can give you advice. AdWords will not work most likely for any author (unless he's upselling services expensively).. FB can work but pricing has to make sense..

    YouTubers, the new Rock Stars?!

    WEB/DIGITAL
It's called Fractured Fame and yes, Youtubers do violate the Control thing but so what? They can get to scale and that scale then allows them different leverage like merchandise, tours and endorsements. Leveraging one platform is fine IF you're smart enough to diversify later. And this is not...

    Creating a content based website

    EXECUTION
Why do people need this website that teaches how to start and market websites? There are already thousands of them and it has winners like Pat Flynn, Neil Patel, etc. You're better of just starting a site in some niche and providing actual value. Newbie teaching other people anything is...

    Self Improvement

    MINDSET
Good thread. Keep it up. Definitely guilty myself of overstudying this. BUT learning about it has been hugely helpful. Huge part in business and life is self-esteem, for many people it needs to be fixed. Often the real reason behind seeking out SI first..

It really does boil down to the basic! :) I think you're sitting on nice potential there, if you can make that funnel and then test ads again, I think can be big! And keep us updated if you will on how it goes! Branding matters so in this case DYI works.. one of rare rare cases..
