E-Books aren't Fastlane. You should quit...

    PUBLISHING
I wasn't saying I read fiction in the second one, I was saying I'm a reader and I make purchases, and I very candidly leave bad reviews on long-winded books. While it is true the more you do something the better you get, not stopping to smell the roses and critique the work is no bueno. Like I...

Like I said earlier, there wasn't any discussion of the quality of writing here, just a discussion about the quantity. It's a discussion forum, not an agreement forum haha.

That is a very, very good point haha. I think in the business sense there's a difference between personal meaning and knowing it will have meaning for many people. YES! That's all I wanted to see here. I'm glad you are writing words you believe have meaning. :)

Because so far in this thread I haven't seen a single "Wow. What I wrote today was F*cking profound." The only discussion is about word count. Bragging about talking. If it was like damn I wrote 70,000 of the most profound words with the most profound meaning, this is really going to touch...

Am I a reader and a consumer? Why yes I am. If you think the opinions of your customers aren't important and are writing to make millions, then by all means continue.

Jesus you love to hear yourself talk. This is actually EXACTLY what I'm talking about. As a reader, I stay away from authors that love to hear themselves talk, which is most of them. You're bragging about the number of words you typed in a week... not the quality and elegance of the content...

Restaurant Work = THE SLOW LANE

If you paid closer attention, you'd be learning customer service, experimenting with sales pitches, performing the art of the up sell, identifying the businesses reasons for success or failure, and spotting pain points. You missed a huge learning opportunity. (just saw mayana said it too!)...

Non dot com names, brand suicide?

    WEB/DIGITAL
I think having anything other than a .com while another company holds onto the .com is suicide. The first thing your customers will try is yourbrand.com. Even if you advertise yourbrand.us, you should also have yourbrand.com forwarding to yourbrand.us.

Snapchat Spurned $3 Billion Acquisition Offer from Facebook

    HOT! EXECUTION
If someone asks what I'm up to, it's almost always through Snapchat, but ya I'd send them back a pic of my coffee. My buddies and I like to meet up at a local bar on Sundays and Wednesdays at 9, so someone will usually start it off with a quick selfie to the group saying "Sideline @ 9?" To...

Snapchat Spurned $3 Billion Acquisition Offer from Facebook

    HOT! EXECUTION
I disagree, Snapchat is mainly used to send time-based picture messages and is often used as a more engaging alternative to text messaging. I send more snaps than text messages.

Restaurant Work = THE SLOW LANE

Oooh I wanna answer too, cause my post was saying it's a positive opportunity. I learned A TON stocking shelves at Target, driving a forklift around, and even cleaning the floors of a warehouse using an industrial machine. A job is as valuable as you make it. Do you mindlessly go through the...

Restaurant Work = THE SLOW LANE

I think restaurant / bartender work is fantastic for entrepreneurs. There aren't many situations where you can get paid to sit there and observe people's behaviors and purchasing habits. Pay attention to the types of people you encounter, how management runs, how the kitchen runs, how the bar...

New to insiders. What do you think of this idea?

    IDEA
    1) People usually want to upgrade, so if someone wants to trade a Samsung Galaxy S3 for an S4, I doubt there are very many people who would want to downgrade unless there were also cash transactions involved to make things equal. 2) Is the trade equal? 3) Mitigation for scams / ripoffs /...

Education and High Net Worth Individuals

    MINDSET
I'm going to pretend that 2nd part of the sentence didn't happen... but I agree! And I clown on college all the time. IMHO, there are only a small handful of colleges worth attending in the United States that actually provide higher education. The rest of them are there to give the illusion...
