My new boss just extended my probationary period!
INTROThanks for the positive comments, it means a lot. Yes, I've definitely had a small taste, though have a bit of figuring out what to do right now. I do realise that copywriting on Upwork is not Fastlane, so that's also a factor as I need to figure where to go with it or what it can lead to...- Five Star

My new boss just extended my probationary period!
INTROHey @WarWizard , thanks for asking! Things are going great, I've never been happier actually. I'm a stay at home Dad now Copywriting on Upwork, and building momentum. I'm feeling more motivated than I ever did working for anyone else. Also, I'm learning so much working with clients that it's...- Five Star

Lead Generation Options
WEB/DIGITALHi, unfortunately not at this point. Due to a change in my situation from the time of writing, and a couple of other things my lead generation idea has been put on hold while I build some regular income freelancing for now. Yes, I'd suggest that putting it out there first and adapting based on...- Five Star

Lex DeVille's: How to Make $1,000 a Week with no Degree, no Feedback, & no Portfolio.
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLENo, I didn't take any of the jobs that I was referring to in my post, though I certainly started off with some lower paying jobs. It's necessary to take some lower paying jobs to get started, but the ones I was referring to were ridiculous. Recently however, I was negotiating the price with a...- Five Star

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEYep, agree with you on that one! I've noticed it a lot too, though I still persist with the reasoning behind doing what I do, and why it will help them.- Five Star

Lex DeVille's: How to Make $1,000 a Week with no Degree, no Feedback, & no Portfolio.
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEFor anyone doubting themselves, my advice is to see it through, and stick it out. Things were slow for me at the start though I kept plugging away. My best week so far was $495 for 16 hrs work, not bad. Just landed some hours this week at $55/hr. It's also great to work with such a variety of...- Five Star

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEHas anyone here been asked to sign an NDA for any upwork clients? I have, but must admit I don't feel entirely comfortable with signing a legal doc. Apologies if I missed this discussion anywhere on the thread.- Five Star

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEHey @TeflonDon, it's a small world after all! Thanks for the encouragement, I'll keep plugging away at it! I think I might have got a bit ahead of myself with the pay, which may be one of the factors in having no work this last 2-3 weeks. I raised my rate to $20 an hr after just 6 jobs. How...- Five Star

Lex DeVille's: How to Make $1,000 a Week with no Degree, no Feedback, & no Portfolio.
GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEThat's reassuring then. The $180 was hard work! Mind you, I haven't felt so motivated in a while even the multiple rejections aren't getting me down (very unusual!). You should definitely do it. I can't say for sure if it's helped as I've really only had it up there for 2 days. It only cost $11...- Five Star

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLECongrats on the progress @Trixii. It sounds like you've got great traction going on. I may need to take a step back and re-evaluate by the look of it, on my measly $180 after 6 weeks! May I ask, if this is where you're making your money, or is it other services? (I respect it if you don't wan't...- Five Star

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEI hope 2016 has been going well for everyone! Since I ‘left’ my job at the end of Nov 2015 (that’s a story in itself, on another thread), I’ve actually been staying away from the Forum, purposely. I’ve been grinding! Thanks to this thread and others on here, I’ve taken the jump into...- Five Star

GOLD! SIDE HUSTLEThis appears to further confirm the lack of Control with freelancing, especially on Upwork. Have you any suggestions to improve the control, e.g. work with several freelancing sites, develop your own site etc.? It sounds similar to Ebay and Amazon in that they can virtually shut you down...- Five Star

Copywriting Mastermind Group 2016
HOT! PEOPLECount me in. Got my first $12 payment for Upwork yesterday, which has led to another opportunity. Received an offer today which I accepted for $28 fixed price. Small wins, but the ball is rolling :) I'd like to achieve $150/ hour by end of 2016 and use this as my primary income, while I...- Five Star
