Interesting convo today... That client called me up today for an evening feedback session. For context, I'm helping her to write copy for her digital marketing agency clients- so they are outsourcing work to me lol. First, she said the agency clients liked my taglines and general copy, from my...

The Rich-Dad Poor-Dad online board game

Yeah. I was looking for a Monopoly-ish game on the App Store, and even the paid versions perform poorly, according to the reviews. Blocking people out randomly, even on multiplayer sessions. I keyed in another search keyword 'money game', and only got a bunch of casino games and lazy...

Interesting stuff with a freelance client... Hired me for email copy, but out of the blue, got me to do social media posting. So I have to work with his other graphic designers and other folks. But I didn't know frack about social media. I had quarantined myself from Fakebook for a long time...

    Dan Pena's system

    HOT!
For some reasons, I feel Dan Pena hates fanboys. And he would definitely agree (in strong language) that ultimately, one has to make his own choices. I don't think its a scam...he mentions lots of his mentees by name, such as Josh Kim and Klaus Kleinfield. Of course, once in a while he mentors...

Lex DeVille's 2019-22 Step-By-Step Upwork Tutorial for Brokeass Bootstrap Beginners Who Need Cash Now!

    NOTABLE! SIDE HUSTLE
Normally, yes. Less competition. But I have seen jobs, especially with the ‘direct response copywriting’ keyword, get swamped by 50+ proposals, even when the job scope is extensive, has LOTS of requirements and is clearly not ‘easy’. Just know that there are some very desperate freelancers who...

I am tried of settling & figuring out how to move forward

    OFF-TOPIC
Hi @stjohanne, thanks for sharing. Good to ramble a bit, but take account of what you can do today and tomorrow. We may not be where we want to be today, but tomorrow? Make that different. From what you shared, trying anything new and promising would be good- as long as you find a market for...

Technology, Productivity Hacks, Tips and Tricks

    HOT! MINDSET
For Fastlaners who are still stuck with using freemium products like Google Drive.... GOOGLE DRIVE PROBLEM 1: - Once you right-click and press 'Download', you'll be shown two options, asking if you want to leave the page or not (cancel). Intuitively, of course you'd click 'cancel'- but that...

Ocean Man's Journey To Earning A Bachelor's Degree

    HOT! EXECUTION
Actually, the costs look pretty decent to me-living expenses aside! As for textbooks, I stopped buying them since my second year. Either the professor would just point us to the college’s online library or we bought it second-hand on Facebook (seniors sold their books after they were done-at...

Ocean Man's Journey To Earning A Bachelor's Degree

    HOT! EXECUTION
For the full classes, you can either email/talk to the course coordinator or the lecturers to see if they’ll open up new slots or provide some alternatives. I usually got the first option happen for my courses, which was great.

Oh, he asked me to pause for a while. Apparently he’s noticed his HR structure needs TONS of improvements, and is working on that now. He said he’s still interested to work with me though, so I’ll wait and see. So, one lesson/pain point I see here is that you can’t totally depend on...

Can you help a 18 yo girl?

    SIDE HUSTLE
You can either look at Upwork job posts and create some 'prototype' (e.g. some sample articles for an article writing job). Yet, some clients demand that your portfolio contains 'paid work'. Which needs to be created at the request of actual market demand, instead of your own fiddle-diddle. If...

Can you help a 18 yo girl?

    SIDE HUSTLE
Mind that you don't always need Upwork to get jobs. I keep a few channels open on social media and WhatsApp for networking, but the process of finding clients is similar. Looking at your profile....yeah..needs a ton of work. In the second thread link I sent you earlier, there's a vid of Lex...

Can you help a 18 yo girl?

    SIDE HUSTLE
You can check out Upwork, Fiverr or other freelance sites to get a much BIGGER pool of jobs to pick from. Here's how a certain Villain signed up for an Upwork profile WITHOUT any portfolio or other forms of tangible experience- and sent proposals to reach good clients...

The Rich-Dad Poor-Dad online board game

For some reasons, I kept winning the game (Breaking into Fast Track) with a good real estate sale or timely stock price soar. Was expecting my rental income to snowball over, but that was a very boring process-nothing exponential. I remember going all in into one electric company stock when it...
