Feedback requested for my four-year old fastlane business

My takeaways were: The copy on the homepage is too long. When I land on a page I want to scroll down and know immediately what to do next. I'd recommend using quick short points. For example, rather than: "We offer frustration-free guitar lessons that save time and money while keeping students...

    Ecommerce software question

    WEB/DIGITAL
My site has good speed. I use Wpengine for hosting which is managed wordpress hosting, it's $29/month and includes free SSL. I forget how much the theme was but its just a one time fee. Woocommerce has Stripe integration so that's easy to set up. I use Wordpress because I needed more...

    Ecommerce software question

    WEB/DIGITAL
I use Woocommerce with Stripe, never had a problem with it. Only recommendation is make sure your theme author updates often, I used a theme that took months to get updates for Woocommerce 3.0 and when they finally released it Woocommerce already had 3.1 out and wasn't compatible with the theme...

Understand These 4 Things To Create A Productocracy

    NOTABLE!
I see what you're saying, but I think you are looking at needs wrong. Because a golfer can need new clubs, people do need cell phones, a painter needs to paint and the paint brush cover helps them paint so it helps solve their need to make painting easier, sunglasses are needed to protect your...

    NOTABLE!
There are 4 different types of businesses that you need to understand to help create a productocracy. 1) Things that people DON'T want and DON'T need These are the businesses that offer no value and solve no problems. Another fitness blog, another dropshipping website. You will struggle to...

Eskil's Mentoring to Accelerate Your Growth

    MARKETPLACE
I bought Eskil's 1 month package which just ended today. He was there every day to answer questions and give opinions via email, as well as hopping on calls every week. The most important part is that he genuinely wants to help you, and he always exceeded my expectations with everything...

I'm 16 years old, I have $28.80 in my pocket, and I'm ready to be an Entrepreneur - Advice Welcome

    INTRO
Welcome to the forum. Good job on getting here so young. Keep learning, definitely check out all the gold threads. As far as raising capital, that sounds to me like just an excuse to not get a job. You won't need to raise capital for most ideas. In fact you shouldn't raise capital for most...

    Prerequisites to quitting a job?

    MINDSET
I did exactly this, although under different circumstances. (Money saved w/ no bills) And I wouldn't recommend it to most people. But you may be in one of the few circumstances where it might be a good idea. Every bodies situation is different, but the majority of people can't just quit their...

Need help on how to create my idea

    IDEA
Not sure if these will help, but look into white-label/reseller content management systems. You may be able to use something like this: What's the best white-label CMS software for resellers? We think you've just found it. It may not fit all your needs but if you can test the market first...

What are best Business/Skills for Freedom?

It's all relative. Programming wouldn't be valuable if you were starting a shoe company. I might prefer online while someone else prefers offline. It doesn't matter. Figure out what suits you. Don't like talking to customers? Maybe an ecommerce business would suit you. Enjoy programming...

The absolute BEST book you MUST read!

    GOLD!
I generally take this a step further. Rather than reading a book on how to change a tire, I would look up specifically what I don't know. Where to jack up a car? How to remove stuck lug? Whatever you are struggling with, marketing, branding, social media, etc. Theres usually a specific...

How does one project sales for a biz plan?

    EXECUTION
Expected store/website traffic x expected conversions x revenue per sale = expected sales was the method I used. (Doesn't account for repeat sales though) To calculate your stores traffic you need to estimate how many people will see your marketing and then estimate how many of those people...

On what platform should I sell online products?

You're looking at this backwards. You don't seek out to write an e-book or start a blog. You seek out problems to solve, and if an e-book or blog is the solution, then it can be a good idea. Starting a blog for the sake of starting of a blog just makes you part of the other 40 million blogs...

How long did it take you to get your first sale?

    MARKETING
Great book, and great concept. Interesting seeing how differently things play out for everybody. I quit my job way prematurely, I hit a tipping point (FTE) and had enough. While I had a few years savings before quitting, I definitely don't recommend it. But I don't regret it. I would do it again.

Definitely agree. Always want to validate the market before jumping in, be it presales or another method.

How long did it take you to get your first sale?

    MARKETING
Never had a mentor, always just learned as I went. I imagine that would have sped up the process though. My last businesses I consider the products a failure, but if this business fails I would consider it my own fault. I'll start a progress thread here soon.

How long did it take you to get your first sale?

    MARKETING
Good points. In the beginning it's all about finding product market fit. Follow the feedback to find it. No feedback is also feedback. If you go a long period of time with no results, no feedback, nothing, then it's time to make changes or move on. Bootstrap as much as possible, like you said...

How long did it take you to get your first sale?

    MARKETING
Absolutely, don't compete on price. Instead, compete on benefits. Be better. Creates a system where rather than pushing for sales, sales come to you.
