    New to fastlane

    INTRO
Welcome to the forum Nate. New here myself and find it very refreshing to share with like minded entrepreneurs. MJ has done a great job setting this up. Read the ABOUT tab and then start reading the GOLD and NOTABLES. Some of these threads have been around for a while and very long, but full...

Your worst entrepreneurial failure... details please!

    NOTABLE!
Agreed, but here's a twist. I followed the rules, got the permits, inspections, etc. Uber said screw the rules and used their size and money to plow through. When some cities did try to enforce the rules, Uber let their "contractors" the drivers take the heat. I don't intend this to be an...

404 - thank you for sharing. I had considered doing something like that with Public Speaking. Combining small group sessions with online/interactive sessions. I eventually convinced myself it wouldn't scale properly and have since dropped the idea.

Your worst entrepreneurial failure... details please!

    NOTABLE!
My worst failure to date: I started an eco-friendly car service in NE Florida. I had lived on Cape Cod for several years and used a company called Green Shuttle. All their cars were hybrids or electrics. Their drivers and customer service were fantastic - still are. I had moved to Florida...

All Meetings Are A Vain Waste Of Time - No Exceptions!

    RANT
Outstanding feed back mechanism. And as we've learned from Atomic Habits a great immediate satisfaction to reinforce good habits. Do you writing aging numbers on the items on the white board?

I just put my house up for sale and no one I know understands why

    HOT!
Outstanding mindset and move. While I'd be inclined to rent it out, only you can decide if that's worth your time and the associated hassle. Either way, you're making a courageous and smart move. Good on you!

Finding motivation when you have a 9-5

    NOTABLE!
I'm with you Greg. Even though I know the company I work for is doing important work and I like many of the people there, I know I cannot stay there. Every free minute of my time is spent on either my wife or our transition to the fast lane. She's onboard with the transition making it much...

Finding motivation when you have a 9-5

    NOTABLE!
A great thread, thanks for starting it. Like many here, I can relate. Up at 5, on the road for an hour and half commute by 6, work for 9+ hours, drive home. Some days I'm physically and mentally exhausted. But I know I cannot, will not, go on this way. That drives me to put in a couple...

The Lost Entrepreneur, Needs Your Advice!

Miami - you can work side gigs at "events" to expand your understanding of needs and earn some $ to live on. But be careful. Just being in a new town doesn't mean you won't have distractions - family and friends aren't the only distractions.

Congrats on your continuing success. I'd say, "good luck", but your hard work had much more to do with your success than luck.

All Meetings Are A Vain Waste Of Time - No Exceptions!

    RANT
First of all, I try to avoid making declarative statements such as, "I'm never doing such and such again." That usually leads to me eating my words down the road. But the rant is completely understandable. With today's vast array of communication tools, many meetings are a waste of time...

What if you already know enough?

    NOTABLE!
It's really not about how many books you read but why you are reading them. That goes for blogs, posts, etc. Example - at some point you'll want to start your own company. While doing that is much easier these days you need to understand how and what structure to use. That requires some...

What book are you reading? Right now. Post up!

    NOTABLE! HOT! BOOKS CHAT
Re-listening to TMF but just got Atomic Habits on Audible. My commute is 1.5 hours one way. The only good thing is the time spent listening to books and thinking.

    I've Read UNSCRIPTED!

    GOLD! HOT!
So I tried to leave an Amazon review but it was rejected! They didn't say why just a link to a list of general guidelines. Can anybody tell me what was wrong this?... Wish I had read this book years ago! I've wasted years trying to "make it". MJ's book, Unscripted, finally explains why I've...
