[RANT]: Raise the minimum wage! This is so unfair!

    GOLD! EXECUTION
I have a habit of straying close to breaking the "no political talk" rule. So I'll just give you the +rep and see myself out. Have to get one comment in though: The MINIMUM wage is not, nor was ever meant to be, nor ever should be, the LIVING wage. They are not the same. Why the F*ck anyone...

Company that can help sell your car?

I think the latter personally. Anything automotive is high-money. I think you could double your prices and still be more than reasonable. But I would focus more on the commission personally. Gimme 7% of $10,000 over a few hundred flat. Of course that really depends what types of vehicles...

What do you guys think of Jordan Belfort?

    OFF-TOPIC
Arguably the first helpful post in this thread, even though I still disagree with the philosophy. Rep + for providing value though. Nice G-Wiz

What do you guys think of Jordan Belfort?

    OFF-TOPIC
I was comparing their audiences. Both attract teenagers who think their time is too valuable to work hard, but have dreams of striking it rich so that they can throw Benjamins out of helicopters and snort blow off of hookers asses. Both attract mental masturbators who like the idea of...

What do you guys think of Jordan Belfort?

    OFF-TOPIC
What I don't get is that there are plenty of legitimate entrepreneurs who actually created value to learn from, and yet we're sitting here with 5 pages about some penny stock scammer from the 80s. It's not like there aren't Zuckerburgs and Musks and whoever is being interviewed on EoF today...

Ebola in the USA... Anyone Concerned?

    HEALTH
This. The reason I wasn't worried months ago wasn't because I think the government is competent in handling large-scale operations (quite the opposite.) I just never thought this was something for Americans (or people in other 1st-world countries) to be legitimately scared over. Seemed like...

A Hustler's Guide To Buying And Selling Anything (Part 2)

    GOLD! SIDE HUSTLE
I'll talk about it after I sell it. Which probably won't be for a month or 2 being as I haven't even ordered the parts to fix it yet. Gotta get on that today.

Company that can help sell your car?

I've had an idea similar to this in my head for a few months. For me, selling cars (especially in that golden $2-5k price range) on CL is super easy, but you always hear people bitching about it. Seems like a great business, there definitely seems to be demand. Have you considered working on...

Becoming Frank Underwood from House of Cards

    PEOPLE
If something like that offends you, good luck. Also, the very nature of an opinion is such that they are all uninformed. That being said, I agree with Kak. Standing outside a building to yell and hold signs says a lot about how you value your time. I struggle to think of an instance in which...

Does that mean I can't talk about the car I picked up for $450 last week? ;)

    Leasing vs. Buying...?

    HOT! MINDSET
Idk how much this will apply to you if you're leasing, but if you ever want to know if a repair quote is accurate just let me know. I sell a ton of auto parts, mostly Japanese and European. So while I'm not a mechanic by any means, I know enough about what things cost to see if a dealership is...

    Leasing vs. Buying...?

    HOT! MINDSET
If this isn't the option for you, it's not the option for you. I'm not a fan of leasing personally, though I know Kak and a few others think it's the best way to go. However I will say for anyone interested in my other post that these repair cost numbers are completely off-base, and are...

    College Has Me Down

    MINDSET RANT
Yeah I don't really understand how a lot of this stuff works because it's a bit different here. If you're referencing the fact that some colleges won't accept credits by examination, yeah, that is a barrier to entry. However, you can get around it. I don't know if this will apply to you but...

    Leasing vs. Buying...?

    HOT! MINDSET
So you said you like the CRV, why not buy a late 90s/early 2000s CRV for $4000. Dead reliable (I've seen them with more than 400,000 miles and still chugging), VERY VERY cheap parts/maintenance, gets 35 mpg, and practically no depreciation. As someone who does a little bit of car flipping, the...

I don't know if you're familiar with this but- http://www.doityourselfdegree.com/ Also don't know where you are in your college education. But it's possible to get a lot of your degree knocked out using unconventional methods. Look into CLEP exams. It costs like $80 to register and like $20...

    Make Six Figures From YouTube/eBooks

    EXECUTION
If you don't feel comfortable sharing earnings I'd completely understand. But I'm curious as to how what kind of cash you're earning per 1k views. Socialblade is cool and all, but I've found that most of their estimated earnings are like "Between $200 and $1000 per month" which I'm sure is...

Just turned 16, lurking from Pennsylvania.

    INTRO
I'll admit to torrenting the book at first too. The name sounded like another generic "get rich quick" book, and the original cover didn't help put my mind at ease either. At the time it had an orange Muricèlago on the cover. Just didn't seem real. I've since purchased 3 copies legitimately...
