Can a $2 tool help make you a millionaire?

    NOTABLE! MINDSET
For to-do lists, I agree that Wunderlist is much better. It's free, simple, transfers your day-to-day tasks, and syncs between your phone and PC. But I would argue that the bread and butter of this advice is the "Task #1". Writing notes in a legal pad helps you think more about what it is you...

    Progress Thread: Fiction eBooks

    EXECUTION
I've always been a bit confused on this, perhaps as a Kindle author you'll know the answer... What's up with the 35/70% royalties? From what I understand, when using Kindle Direct Publishing, you can choose to get paid either way. But why in the world would anyone choose to receive only 35%...

    New Jersey Meetup

    MEETUPS
Ah okay, that's not too far from me. I'm right on the border between Berks and Lehigh.

    F$*& your NDA

I hate when people talk about the next big Facebook idea. You've hit my entrepreneurial pet peeve. Everyone seems to have an idea for a multi-billion dollar company that will outshine Google/Facebook/PayPal/Tumblr/Amazon/Reddit/etc. My theory, hell, in this case I might be cocky enough to call...

    New Jersey Meetup

    MEETUPS
Philly isn't a bad idea, and I would definitely have a better chance at being able to make it then. And if it's timed right, you can get away with significantly less traffic. 72NovaGuy, are you out here in Pennsylvania as well?

Are you using Tumblr for your business?

    HOT! EXECUTION
Wow, can't believe I missed this kind of opportunity. I always thought Tumblr was just something young girls used to kill time when Facebook was slow. :p Thanks for sharing this.

    New Jersey Meetup

    MEETUPS
I may be able to make that. New Jersey is a bit of a drive, but it seems like a good chance to meet several members.

18 year old Class of 2013 Graduate!!!

    EXECUTION
Absolutely. It's just that it's hard to find like-minded people to ask these questions to in real life (or rather, I need to work harder on surrounding myself with different types of people.) Thank you for taking the time to answer.

18 year old Class of 2013 Graduate!!!

    EXECUTION
If you don't mind me asking, how did this dropping out of college talk go over with your parents? I have been thinking more and more that this college deal isn't the option I want to take. The debt is way too stressful, and as shown by the financial state of my family, a piece of paper doesn't...

...but I don't have any money!!

Very cool thread, and nice hustle. RichKid, I read through your entire "Hustler's Guide to Buying and Selling Anything" thread during the past 2 days. I don't know how much your situation has changed since those things were posted, but I can't help but relate to you. About the same age...

Can your phyiscal location hold you back?

This. Although I would re-word it and say it depends on what kind of platform you want your business from. If you are selling online, then your location is pretty much irrelevant. If you have a physical storefront, then selling skiing accessories in Florida will probably hold you back.

What you like about the book

There are lots of things that make TMF a stand-out book when compared to others in its genre. And if there's a way of sharing notes/annotations you made in a Kindle file, I'm happy to share them here. But for now... What particularly grabbed me from the beginning was that MJ writes "like one...

Can your phyiscal location hold you back?

In an extreme scenario where your physical location puts you in real danger, then I could see it being a setback. For instance, I don't care if I had the entrepreneurial talents of some of the top members of this forum- I still wouldn't want to operate out of Argentina in the early 2000s. But...

Bringing my first Android app to market - The process

    WEB/DIGITAL
Do you think that you would have had an easier time making the app profitable if it was on iOS instead of Android? From everything I've seen, people using Apple devices seem more willing to pay a few bucks. Or do you think the app was the problem and you would release on Android again? I'm...

    My College Questions/Concerns

Man I f'ing love analogies when you try and relate to doing things on the computer as opposed to real life. Sometimes it seems like people just think backwards when you shove a monitor in front of them.

    My College Questions/Concerns

I think it's important to note that no one has ever discredited the value of knowing how to code. Seriously, even if you are a slowlaner working a normal job, knowing how to program can get you into a decent paying field. And if you're in the fastlane, it's valuable in the same way that being...

    My College Questions/Concerns

It seemed like you were looking at using college as a way of expanding your skills and help give you an easier transition into the fastlane. Seemed like a pretty good option. And then I read this. You don't seem committed to the fastlane. I'm the same age as you, and from one 90s kid to...

What does your days look like?

    OFF-TOPIC
You can give negative speed to put someone "In Reverse"? Didn't even know that was possible. There's a part of TMF you should re-read. It was like when MJ was still coding limos there was a bar down the street or something that had a bunch of parties he wanted to attend. Instead of going out...

    I've got a real headache...

    MINDSET
Did you even read his post? He's not some teenager looking for the quickest and easiest way to get a Ferrari. And he's not some 30 year old pissed off that his $60,000 job by itself isn't going to make him the next Warren Buffet. He's got a family he's trying to provide for, and he's...

The most important idea in TMF

    IDEA
One thing that's awesome about having TMF on Kindle is it's stupidly easy to make highlights and notes. I have a part of your post as one of my highlights. :) I think my personal favorite though was- That's the type of quote that got me to start doing. Who cares if you screw up? Nobody...
