The Greatest Lesson MJ DeMarco Taught Me

    GOLD! HOT! MINDSET
Thanks for the tale. Although you paraphrased the actual convos a lot, it still feels like something MJ might say himself haha. I saw another lesson in how MJ conducted himself there...he didn't show off NEEDINESS-even when getting his offers to the market. Neediness gives off an air of...

I suck. (Can you help someone out of a rut?)

    HOT! EXECUTION
In Malaysia, NS used to be based on a lottery of sorts. You key in your name into their website after you finish high school, and see if you are picked for it. They seem to pick participants by random. I never got picked or even a letter to inform me, but I heard from folks who went that it was...

Yeah...guess somehow the 'event over process' bug still lives in each of us- even though we try hard to cut it out of our lives? Some of the progress threads I found here that were very relevant to my own business struggles weren't heavily-liked or gilded-and I think that's OK. We are talking...

Random Chat, Thoughts, Posts, and/or Rants Thread

    HOT! CHAT
Just finished a graded college assignment on some Derivatives mega-questions. It was all about stock options. We studied more about the hedging component, rather than the money-print operation taught in MJ's thread. I didn't truly appreciate how clever options are to fight back bad price drops...

I suck. (Can you help someone out of a rut?)

    HOT! EXECUTION
I have done article writing projects on Upwork, but I typically provide copywriting services. For copywriting though (and for some article writing), it’s actually LESS of word-smithing and more on knowing your markets. You can use all the hooks and persuasion tricks in the book, but if you...

Woah...long story, but I can agree a lot with the tone and the message behind it. Really appreciate your sharing! I guess there'll always be something we suck at haha. Even at the things we think we are good at. The best we can do is to keep asking ourselves, 'Is there a BETTER way to do...

    Slowlane Idiocy at its Finest!

    SLOWLANE RANT
Haha yeah. Thanks for the feedback. I think that at the beginning, it's reasonable to be filled with lots of hatred for the Slowlane, jobs, etc. But if one doesn't do anything about the hate, it just goes rotten inside you. It's a good thing I decided to hop onto Upwork and follow Lex's lead...

Ocean Man's Journey To Earning A Bachelor's Degree

    HOT! EXECUTION
Great start! I've tried finishing my assignments to clear up as much time as possible for the whole week, but at times, the work is too mind-sucking that I end up wearing myself out. Of course, that depends if the assignment touched on a brand-new topic or not. If its a topic I can understand...

Welcome @Untio. Wow, what a journey! Thank goodness you recovered your health timely, and broke into your first business moves. And no, I don't think you've wasted too much time! You've travelled to places I've never been before, and cleared out lots of toxic people and things cleaner than...

Welcome @swingbagz! Thanks for sharing your experiences. Just remember with dropshipping, the basics of business like providing value for the market and customer service still apply! Unfortunately, these are the last things on most dropshippers' minds. One of the reasons this community can stay...

    Feeling blue

    OFF-TOPIC
It's important to note that we are to listen to the RIGHT kind of complaints i.e. complaints rich in pointing out pain-points of existing solutions or specific expectations of help. Complaints that are fluff, too general (e.g. 'That tool works great!'), trolling, shaming (e.g. 'You are a menace...

    I need your advice

    PEOPLE
Wait, what? I can understand undue work pressure...but doing all that work for NO MONEY? Nope. 500 bucks is a bad rate, considering your job scope. Yup, move on, as @RazorCut said. Either to a more time-reasonable job with better pay (me thinks with your experience you could start asking for...

MJ, im 14 and is college worth it?

It's actually FANTASTIC you are asking this question early at 14! At that age, I've never even thought of that-right until after high school. The reality is that most folks exit high school without truly having real-life skills, discipline or critical thinking. Not everyone can quickly learn...

    What's Worse than Death?

    HOT! MINDSET
Yeah, whenever client work bends me over, I look back to see if: -my current research and work processes are methodical enough- that can be done whether or not I feel happy or sad -I have qualified/disqualified my clients well enough (e.g. I DO NOT write sales copy for clients without existing...
