Should I pay off all my debt?

    HOT! MINDSET
Yes I am, and it plays into my decision making matrix all the time. They are much of my motivation to start my own project. You're from Jonesboro! I've been thru there several times in years gone by. It's a beautiful old town, if I recall correctly. Congrats on the recent growth of your...

    Painting Business

I'm mighty curious because I'm also a family man, bootstrapping my design & manufacturing startup, and planning to eventually have employees, equipment, inventory, website & ads. Please forgive this barrage, but... Was your standard of living kept high even though you were struggling to start...

Should I pay off all my debt?

    HOT! MINDSET
I agree with @Mikkel and @UnrealCreative...pay off all debt ASAP. That's just my opinion though and I'll try to explain why. It appears that you aren't content with your current business, as your goals must have changed recently. (Perhaps from having read TMF???) So you are likely in for a...

Could you please educate us on what attempts you made to "bridge the gap" and how they worked out? Thanks

That is a GREAT statement! Kudos. Let us indeed make an improvement on the stereotype of business & business owners.

Deaf and Daft, getting my first sale

    EXECUTION
I'm going to PM you about this shortly, because I'm interested in trying this. I have 3D modeling software and will be designing my own parts. It will be a couple months yet, but I'm going to be making some prototypes and this might work nicely for some of the parts. Is it possible to print any...

Thank you for your perspective @devine. It's always interesting to hear what folks from other cultures think on various issues. We certainly agree on the following, in principle: We agree that it's good for business to reduce cost, and that offering the absolute minimum pay is not efficient...

    My fastlane mentor

    PEOPLE
I do happen to know business owners & building owners. I'm sure you do too. While some may consider it "Prima Donna" ish...I'd still choose to have as a mentor, someone who has already achieved what I'm aspiring to achieve. We are free to have different preferences, and that's ok.

One of the best pieces of text I had read. Please take the time to read it

    MINDSET
True, but it's a small leap for the popular culture to categorize small business owners with large business owners. Consider it...equal opportunity "hate & envy". It's something I've faced many times, as I've only worked at small to medium sized business. Many of my peers considered the small...

I would prefer a mentor that OWNS that building instead of an office dweller that works in it, but that's just me!

    MINDSET
@ilrein it's also filled with the following: "Employees are paid salaries that allow the shareholders to extract as much profit as possible." What does the use of the word "extract" imply here??? "And innovation forces the gap wider between the needs of the shareholders at the top and the...

How much sleep do you get?

    HEALTH
I can function on 6 hours of sleep each night, but feel muuuch better with 8 hours. I have tried to live on 6 hours of sleep and eventually I feel "run down" and never fully refreshed. It takes me about a month of 8 hours to feel fully recovered. Your mileage may vary. Personally, I've given up...

Sorry but I couldn't finish it. The author and I differ substantially on the role/purpose of business, and the moral efficacy of being in business.

Big importing roadblocks (after first weeks 100$+ profit/day)

    FTE SOURCING RANT
You do have a business, don't sell yourself short. You provide a product of value to customers that are willing to exchange $ for that value. Great work! I'd suggest continuing the process of sourcing more companion products to offer. The question of direction or vision is one that only you...
