    Progress Thread - Spot On

Great progress. I hope you're successful with this project! My 1st thought as I read the thread was a cautionary warning...a little red flag in the back of my mind. Just be careful about using your employer's time/software/equipment to build your prototypes, and about involving your co-workers...

Is it dumb for me to do a startup right now?

I'll be the contrarian here today and tell you what you really want to hear: Go for it man! You got this! Juggling a new brick & mortar business, a business partner, a young family, barely 3/4 million in debt, studying at dental school & then starting a dental practice...will be a piece of cake...

    Hello world

    INTRO
Welcome to the forum, it's a great place to be. Gold threads, Notable threads, Featured posts...there's real value in there. I understand what you mean about kids/family changing one's perspective, it's a factor for me too. We can all understand the desire to escape the matrix or the "bozo...

    Custom Labels - Help

Your primary problem is your time-frame. Getting a "special" label in a week is either expensive or darn near impossible. Getting "any old label" in a week is possible, but it might not last under your test conditions. I've specified inks & labels before in my 9-5 job, and it's always taken...

    Introvert VS Extrovert

    MINDSET
Same for me. INTJ and I consider it valuable to train myself to "extrovert" when necessary. Not easy, exhausting actually, but worth the effort.

    Introvert VS Extrovert

    MINDSET
I like them too because I've seen the benefit of understanding your coworkers/employees/supervisor. As an example, I once worked at a business that had all new employees take a similar personality test. The management then used that info to tailor how they managed that person. I've always...

Wildfire suppression foam service for homes

@natopotato have you begun testing the market? What has the response been? Any interest? The forum members aren't your target market, those living in the fire prone areas are. You'll find a lot of good threads here, but the real feedback will come from you target market.

I really appreciate your input, and understand your preference for this structure. I'd be very interested in reading a thread on your "lessons learned". Do you have a progress thread from your startup phase? Thank you!

    Shipping options - good enough?

Selling price. Order quantity. Physical size. If you are selling buttons, that's different from selling shoes, and very different from selling furniture. It's impossible to know if your shipping charge is too low, if one doesn't know what you're shipping.

Hi @GameOver and welcome to the forum. It's a great place to be and we're glad you are here! I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you are working "with" your team instead of "on" your team. I'd guess you feel intimately connected with the ins & outs of the business unit and don't...

Need to Escape the Slowlane of Investment Banking

    SLOWLANE
IMO, this is quite easy to comply with and still start you own business. What exactly does "time that is required for your role at the bank" mean??? That means you still have to show up at your J.O.B. and do your work. That's just normal...do they J.O.B. they are paying you for. Strangely...

Please don't take this personally, but I strongly disagree with this suggestion. IMO, the only time you should "type like you talk" is if you are a consummate professional with a strong grasp of the language. It's quite common to judge & disregard someone that uses slang, excessive informality...
