    What about Ethics?

    MINDSET
Someone who does not have a strong, internal, moral compass. Hence the question about ethics and what we might have done in the OP's original question. It's not all that uncommon though, and it seems that ethics & morals tend to wax and wane in generational cycles. I'm not at all surprised...

If owning rental properties is such a good revenue stream for so many folks here....why would I want to become one of their customers???

    What about Ethics?

    MINDSET
@VDon a simple method to determine the ethical thing to do might be to ask yourself: If I were in the other person's shoes (seller), what would I want the buyer to do? Would you want a prospective buyer to give you the asking price so that you could get those bills off you back? Would you want...

First post, inventing my own product

Not a bad idea. There are a number of threads here that detail the struggles of eCommerce sellers who have been tied to only 1 sales funnel. Sometimes a change in fee structure, or the prohibited items list, or merely bad reviews, can close the sales funnel...leaving the seller high & dry.

Contacted by a competitor, any possible advantage to dealing with them?

This requires clarification on your part. If they knew you were building a competing product, they might never have approached you. They will likely have a non-compete clause in their Non-Disclosure Agreement and if you sign that...you're sunk! No matter how difficult or easy it might seem to...

+1 on this. Spend some time on the forum searching out these question. They've been covered several times in several ways. Then come back with more specific questions.

"It's Okay to Be the Boss" by Bruce Tulgan. Quite interesting for anyone that plans to be the boss, or might be already. Checked it out from the library but liked it enough to order a copy from Amazon to keep/reread/highlight.

My Dream... My Plan... My reasons...

That's a great looking project, nicely done. It does present several challenges to meet all of the CENTS commandments, but you can find a way to make it happen if you're motivated. Even if all you manage to do is improve the Scale & Time functions, then you're that much closer to your goal...

    Question????

    HEALTH
Wait a few years, spend 20 of them behind a desk in a cubicle, get a bit more gray, and start having back issues. That will motivate you to exercise every morning to stave off back pain!!! It's worked for me! I've been doing 10 minutes of exercise/stretches almost every morning for 3 years now.

Why so much talk about Ecommerce and AM??

    MINDSET
Yes, there are some of us pursuing other paths...but most seem to be in eCommerce. I agree, it's probably due to the reduced barrier to entry. Besides, this forum only exists in e-reality so it's closer to the world of eCommerce. Perhaps the majority of brick & mortar folks never think to look...

Designed a Product for a Company to Make and Sell - What % of each sale should I ask for?

@Dwight Schrute is on the money. You might consider negotiating your take, politely of course. First, create some estimates of how many more they might sell with your branding, and how much it might cost to outsource the design of the circuit. Those are both real costs to the manufacturer, so...

    Inventory is Evil

    HOT!
Perhaps it would helpful to ask: Does having this inventory investment help my customer? Does it meet THEIR need? 1) If the customer wants/expects delivery that can only be provided by keeping inventory on hand, then it's good for the customer. Someone, somewhere needs to have inventory to meet...

@Mr4213 that is not a useless post! It's a window into the internal motivation that is driving you.
