You Know what a Map is, but do You Know Mapees? (Feedback Needed & Progress)

I like it! 1. If you looked up a mapee on the site, is there any specific set/type of information you would like to see? It would be nice to have a dropdown of likely things. I don't care about nightlife, except to avoid, but I do want to see where the dog parks are. 2. If you were going to...

So I learned how to ride a bike this weekend

    HOT! MINDSET
I learned how to swim this year (I'm in my 50s). As opposed to 'not drown'. It was horribly challenging. I literally missed getting a marriage proposal because when he asked to see me on Valentine's Day, I said I couldn't, I had a swimming lesson (don't worry, he asked 2 days later). I...

    GOLD! IDEA
I just ran another one - the solution to a problem that's been bothering me for awhile. I have no experience, no capital, no connections. But other people need it too, millions of them nationwide. If I can run a pitch deck to the right VCs, I could do a test case locally, and then franchise, in...

Doing the Andy Frisella "75 Hard" Challenge

    HOT! MINDSET
I'm in - and I want your opinions, please. I was on Day 7 when I accidentally ingested an allergen. I maintain Constant Vigilance, and this one slipped past me anyway. So I got sick. In bed, throwing up, can't move my head sick. Not quite to the 'my throat is closing up, take me to the...

I like it - fast answers! The advantage of having my own formula, though, is that I can play with the weightiness of different factors for different ideas. But yours is a gateway - if I get a C or better, it's worth pulling out my spreadsheet. (first one got a C+)

How Do I Get Real Market Input?

Thank you all for your help! I'm going to do all these things, and for sure something's going to stick!

How Do I Get Real Market Input?

Hey all! I'm trying to a slingshot into a new, better, more CENTS-ible market (selling shovels to gold miners). I want to reach out to my potential customers and see what they really need (as opposed to what I think they need). HOW? This is what stops me, stumps me, and gets my panties in a...

tips on how to overcome shyness

    HOT! MINDSET
You've got some great answers here, and I'm going to add one more. I used to be pathologically shy. Zero eye contact, dressed to be ignored, intermittent hygiene, damn near permanent stutter, the works. Two things changed everything: 1. I moved 3000 miles away from anyone who knew me. Any...

    Best "Template-Based" Website Builder?

    MARKETING
I've used ThriveThemes on Wordpress, and find it intuitive and relatively idiot-proof. I'll use it again - and when my company gets big enough, I'll hire a proper web designer.

Doing $75,000 USD Per WEEK (Service Business)

    GOLD! HOT! EXECUTION
Sometimes the work is done already and the information available. I tried for mine: "market cap wastewater", and came up with tons of freely available information. Sure, it's a broad overview, but I can then pick some of the named players and get their prospectuses and do the math. Rough...

I'll jump in here too. I live in the PNW, and grew up in Boston, so ....yeah. I increase the nootropics and Vit. D starting November 1 and carry that through March 1. I make it a point to hike to the butte on sunny days, at least once a month, because it's the Wide Open Sky Filled With...

What bad habits have you broken?

    HOT! MINDSET
My 18yo son, my youngest, left home on August 20. My 3x/week aperitif became daily slug o'whiskey. When I ran out of that, I finished off the vodka, then the triple sec. BUT I DIDN'T BUY ANY MORE. I stopped it when it was still a habit, not an addiction. It never hurt me, so far as I could...

What are some of the ways YOU gain CLARITY on complex decisions/problems?

    MINDSET FEATURED!
I would caution you against doing only pros and cons. I use a system that is reproducible, so we make decisions the same way every time. You could (and should) read the whole book, Decisive, by Dan and Chip Heath. Or, to save time, post this up on your wall and make a decision: Also, I run...

Mental Health, Depression, ADD Discussion Thread

    NOTABLE! CHAT
A personal word about depression - it may be only a sign of something else, or it could be The Thing. In my case (I just found this out 3 weeks ago), my depression was caused from a bad mix of genetic anomalies and allergies made worse by menopause. I can totally see how some women used to be...

Should you worry about the competition? I'm afraid to scale

Love my competitors! They prove that the market wants what I have. All I have to do is be better or faster than them.
