why is europe fighting against the giants of silicon valley?

Who the hell in Europe hates the EU? LOL As a Portuguese citizen, I'm more than glad to have joined the EU. I'd be trading in "Escudos" instead of Euros and would have a bureaucratic wall every time I needed to ship anything outside. And really, loss of own culture because we joined the EU...

    Startup #1: Instagram Ad Marketplace

    SOCIAL MEDIA EXECUTION
@Winning My suggestion is to add bulk post pricing. For 1 posts most people will just contact the IG channel owner directly, but if you have bulk post pricing (like, buy 10 posts at a much better price), it becomes a great advantage over having to talk with all channels and grab their bulk...

    Catch customers before they leave

I don't know if you noticed, but an exit intent pop-up, doesn't make you loose anything. If you're about to close the window, you can still close the window and ignore the pop-up, it's an in-page pop-up, it doesn't pop-out, neither does it open a dialog window "are you sure you want to leave?"...

    Catch customers before they leave

Exit intent pop-ups aren't "annoying people to stay". If used the right way, they are the shiny gadjet that make people stick around for some more and maybe end-up buying. Exit intent pop-up isn't about getting e-mails, it's about redirecting the user that might feel lost and in need of...

AMA - Ask me anything on sourcing/importing from Asia..

    SOURCING AMA
Got a call from Ranatrans after some e-mail exchange. They were super helpful and answered all my questions. Also, they were the only ones who sent a PDF Quotation for the prices of the services and all airport fees. All airport fees + their service is around 300€. I got other quotes nearing...

Thank you again Walter, Yes I double checked the CE certificate (went to the certificator website and checked all the info). I've contacted João Oliveira by e-mail right now, I will call him later if the reply takes long. The weight is after all 240Kg, so air freight becomes much cheaper...

AMA - Ask me anything on sourcing/importing from Asia..

    SOURCING AMA
Thanks for the reply Walter The quote was already EXW. I had an inspection done and all checked out so I don't think they are scamming, they either tried to grab some extra money on the shipping or have an expensive freight forwarder. They have agreed to let the shipment go after the 70%...

AMA - Ask me anything on sourcing/importing from Asia..

    SOURCING AMA
@Walter Hay have a quick question, I always used the suppliers shipping agent so they always billed the shipping cost together with the goods invoice. They are quoting us an insane 18$/Kg (after the initial quote was 4.5$), and they are also asking for the shipping cost to be transferred to a...

Estonia is expanding its E-Residency Program

I'm not sure but from what I've read, you just need a rental there. As an EU citizen you can travel / live anywhere I guess, how can anyone know if you spent 180 days or not there? Also, even as a nonresident, Isn't Bulgarian income is taxed in Bulgaria? so it won't get taxed again in Portugal...

Estonia is expanding its E-Residency Program

How about Bulgaria? 10% Corporate Tax, 10% Personal income tax :) And it is easy to get residence Consp theory much? Not saying EU is much different than USA, the thing is that you have many countries, many barriers, that just in itself represents a big barrier in terms of...

IDEA: No-speak ordering at McDonald's etc.

    IDEA
They are already implementing Touchscreen order screens. Much much better than waiting in line. And you can customize what you want your burger with (something the cashiers always mess on). The interface could be better tho, the average joe wouldn't find how to customize the order. I've seen...

So you want to move to Scottsdale?

    MEETUPS
I also expected rent prices to be much higher. A shithole bedroom in a shared old apartment costs 250-300€ in Lisbon, I've seen 1br apartments in Scottsdale with pool and gym for 500-700$, and I've seen cheaper/per br in 2 and 3 br houses.

    Ridiculously High Sample Fees

    RANT
They get 100's of people like you everyday. It's not just a cost problem for them, it's actually a way to know if you are really interested or not. The cost, both in money and time, they would have if they sent samples for free/cheap would lead them no where. Also, as soon as you order the...

Thank you. (really, you're the 0.1% who show up here asking this kind of question with your shit together) I don't know how old your kids are but, as a 20 year old, I can say that they will benefit more from travelling than any other activity. EU business schools are full of great technical...
