Anyone with experience with drop shipping?

The problem with this is that the customer will most likely have to clear customs, which involves having the information of the supplier, and price paid to him. (unless they ship with duty-paid, which I doubt)

Anyone with experience with drop shipping?

How did programmers optimize conversion rates if you sold less than 10 items? Dropshipping sucks, why? Low barriers of entry, anyone can do it, specially drop shipping from US. Drop shipping from China, even worse, anyone can do it, and it takes forever to arrive.

Post Your Desk or Work Area! (The Workspace Thread)

    MINDSET FEATURED!
So I ended up buying a clamp mount but didn't notice the back of my desk has an extra layer of wood... So in a typical portuguese "desenrasca" (the ability of quickly problem-solving with wtv you can find), went to a tools shop, bought 10€ drill (and it worked!) and made something that looks...

    MINDSET FEATURED!
@trepine Thanks. I've just tested my setup with vertical monitors and it's WAY WAY better. Websites go below, not broader, so it makes sense. Just ordered a VESA mount, posting pictures soon.

The cat that made $100 million?

    FUNNY
Some huge and wrong assumptions here IMO "All you need to do is to buy a cat with dwarfism (...) and voila", well, that could be said for almost anything "Hey, all you need to do is create a social network (...) and voila", "Hey, all you need to do is figure out Facebook ads, get a decent...

Sam Walton Reveals his Secret to Successful Retailing

    PEOPLE
"Things have been going well in the past couple of months until just recently my sales began to decline. " "In the beginning, I was making $60-150 PER item. I was trying to push the price of the product to the absolute limit." So if it was working in the beginning, why did it stop? To me...

At least you guys in the US/Canada have BlackFriday, selling summer seasonal products sucks during October-December, It starts growing again in January. But you know what's best? Whatever you did in terms of marketing, if it worked in the winter (higher marketing costs + bad seasonality), will...

Sam Walton Reveals his Secret to Successful Retailing

Sorry but I couldn't connect the dots between your problem (lack of sales) and the preach of giving value to the customer. What was really your problem, how did you solve it and why did it work?

    Language learners thread

    HOT!
I know English, Portuguese (mother-tongue) and can easily understand/read Spanish (every Portuguese understands Spanish and can learn to speak easily). Currently tackling Mandarin, I'm crossing that point of being able to say some simple phrases, now it's all about building vocabulary and...

    GOLD! EXECUTION
He could at least have made... 72k$, or even 72$... and exaggerated by a few zeros. But nope. "Islam admitted that he made up being worth eight figures and that he never actually traded the stock market, other than through simulated trades." Seriously, wtf.

I miss paying income tax so much!

    TAXES | REGS
48% in Portugal after 80k€ with a 23% VAT, and that's the higher tier. On a 25€ product, almost 5€ are for VAT. And they wonder why there is so much parallel activity and so little investment.

Are low cost "tripwire" offers unethical?

    HOT! MARKETING
I think the last time a tripwire might come somewhat as of unethical on this forum was with a book that is selling claiming "All profits go for feeding the less-fortunate" with a massive back-end of up-sells for own-profit. Other than that, it doesn't even make sense to offer a worthless...

What Ecommerce platforms are these? Ecom Experts.

Siteground is what I'm currently using. Around 20-30€/month, with their caching capabilities I've had around 150 people on the website with 2-3 second loading times. My problem with Magento, and what is making me consider switching to an Hosted solution, is the lack of good extensions for...

What Ecommerce platforms are these? Ecom Experts.

My problem with this hosted solution, particularly Shopify, is the monthly price, you can't get cart abandonment mails for under 70€/month plus a 1% fee. For someone starting out, or for a seasonal business, that's already too much. And the last time I checked (some months ago), all their...

What Ecommerce platforms are these? Ecom Experts.

The majority of big e-commerce stores that aren't full custom built are based on Magento (of course, with heavy customization).

    College Has Me Down

    MINDSET RANT
I would love to do this... I have 60 ECTS credits (Total for Undergrad is 180) from Engineering School, switched to Business School. Asked for recognition and waiver of the common subjects, rejected because on BSchool each subject has 7 Credits and on Engineering only 4 to 6. BSchool has...

    Leasing vs. Buying...?

    HOT! MINDSET
I think you are over-spending. I could get 4 or 5 reliable cars for 20k... Can't you find a lease/financing on a used or cheaper car? And I don't mean that you need to get the cheapest thing you find. I just have a thing against new cars, you're loosing 20% right when it leaves the lot...

    Learning Mandarin Chinese

Agreed, except on Rosetta being immersion... It's just context memorization... and you should go with memorization on the most basic beginning vocabulary (basic verbs and phrases, easy to learn), that will make you learn from immersion 10x faster than not knowing a single word of what is being...
