Anyone have experience renovating absolute run down homes?

    HOT! REAL ESTATE
I didn't build the shed. I built the business in the shed. My monthly rent was cutting the lawn and shoveling snow. I'm going to dip out now. I feel like I've over contributed here relative to my business accomplishments thus far, and I'm uncomfortable with a bunch of attention. :wideyed: I...

What do you lovely people do, When you're down and out?

    HOT! MINDSET
It's f*cked up, isn't it? The powers that be will build multi-trillion dollar safety nets for people who don't get out of bed before noon, but people like you, the Motor of the World, are left clinging for life. My problems are proportionately smaller than yours, but I think I feel you...

Haha. No, I meant figuratively as in my business's starter home. I had an apartment that I was going to lose if I didn't get going on something. Listen, everything else aside, the entire world is going to tell you what you can't do, and why your ideas suck, FOREVER. If you join forces with...

Duct tape is like a religion for me! I got started with those crate tables everyone was into a few years back. :D I came up with a way of putting them out at a retail price lower than the cost competition was paying for materials.

Here's a visual sneak peak of my 10x8 starter home, with my home made table saw. I couldn't afford real equipment, so i had to invent it. I also didn't know how to build furniture, but YouTube fixed that. :D

Maybe a stupid question, where to sell my art?

Etsy is easy to get rolling with. $.20/ listing. Do an etsy forum search on tags, title, description best practices to get found. Art can be tricky. Your work has to jump out when they're searching for something specific (mountains, ocean, etc). Pre-edit: I got a notification from...

I believe you are secretly a self made billionaire who is using a near clairvoyant gift of mind-F*ckery to get us to face our own entrepreneurial demons. This is the most rational reason for what you're doing here.

I'm having fun overcoming all of your objections on this Tuesday afternoon anyways... it's good practice for when I get stuck. The Craigslist one above is a two bed. Get a roommate who also is starting a business. Bam! $950/mo. Your ball!

How does a forum earn money

I think Adsense clicks, premium upgrades (insiders), actual forum sponsors/ marketplace ads. Don't know the exact math, but 1% of users are probably good for $100+/- annually, or some such.

Which way is the right way?

...when I open a thread and have to like every reply... RDPD is sooo 2001. Skip straight to MJ's books and the GOLD threads here. Would've saved me 13 years of F*cking around trying to rent and flip houses (and ultimately losing my shirt) if I had that option.

I did start a progress thread, once upon a time, but until recently I've been stuck in a weird on the gas/ off the gas pattern. It's a little boring, but I'll fire it back up after my next move. :)

Fastlane to Shark Tank with a Physical Product

Word! :) Always slower than anticipated. Have a cnc guy cutting my prototype, so I can keep on top of the regular work, as I mess around with urethane rubber mold making in my kitchen. Behind schedule, but what are you going to do.
