The simplicity (which I assume you mean is it's dynamic types) of PHP can come back to bite you if you don't atleast understand how different types work.

Greasemonkey allows you to change how websites are displayed, granted it's a hands on process, but anything will be: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/

It's the nature of the beast. Much like asking the question of what is the best programming language. Unfortunately there isn't one (in a general sense) so you get a ton of answers with a generic question like which is the best. Well, an easy one to clear up is "cloud". The cloud is simply...

Huh? What does this even mean?

    WEB/DIGITAL
Glad that you're respecting the NDA. Unfortunately to diagnosis the problem it'd be a ton of back and forth exchanges with little progress, and a lot of wasted time for both of us. You'll actually have to scale the image to the height\width you want server side or else the image parameters...

need help with website- CODE INSIDE

    WEB/DIGITAL
It'd be highly unlikely image size would have anything to do with a slow loading popup. I mean perhaps the click event is tied to the img, to bring up the popup. Although, I honestly don't know if the browser waits for the image itself to load being binding the event to it - Even then I'd...

Want to PM me the link? I have a little bit of time I can spare. Definitely looks like you're using a jquery modal plugin if you're using thickbox, so something else is going on. Nah, CodeIgniter shouldn't be influencing this at all though Not in terms of how long it takes the popup window...

Check out Jquery, and a modal dialog plugin. If you're looking for a lot of interactive inputs Jquery-UI may be up your alley, but if this is all you want, it'd be overkill. Edit: Also, there is absolutely no reason a pop-up like this should be taking any reasonable amount of time. Don't be...

Welcome John! Those are some nice looking websites, and I definitely see the crossfit WOD one doing well if executed right. Hope to see you continue to hang around here.

I'd agree with winch, it feels like a 'relaxed' fitness website like something like Shape magazine.

    FTE WEB/DIGITAL
Get an IDE, so the mistakes you worry about now are a thing of the past. No matter how long you've programmed there will always be those mistakes due to typos. What language(s) are you using? Perhaps I can suggest something. Then you can focus on the design, which at 2 weeks in is not a...

    Learn How To Code...From Scratch

Come on now, this is an opinion, and not a fact. While worth a discussion, it certainly isn't right in a thread aimed at people getting started to get such a notion in their head.

James F's New Direction in Life

First few? I've been programming (although only slightly during teenage years) for around 10 years now, and anything I do there is always the thought of how things could have been done better. It comes with a familiarity of the task at hand, just as much as understanding how to program.

Is there a need for an app on Ipad or Iphone

    WEB/DIGITAL
You can create the backend of an app (such as if you want to store stuff in a database) without RoR, but the app itself cannot be. AFAIK Apple almost only allows objective-c. I say almost only because Dominic Szablewsk had some success getting them to accept a game made with his javascript...

James F's New Direction in Life

How come you're determined to learn RoR during this time James? I remember your last project, Fendza, you did in php, right? If you know php and time is of the essence you should really get it done, and then worry about learning RoR if that's the direction you want to go. Not like it *really*...

Technically yes, but the audience between the two are almost completely different. Just some food for thought.
