    Favorite Website Host?

    WEB/DIGITAL
Hey guys, I'm planning on starting a website (and finally not leeching off my school bandwidth ) so I'm curious as to what host everyone would recommend. A very quick search brought me to Web Hosting : Professional Website Hosting from Just Host but I like to follow the rule if it seems...

    Misconception: Wealth = Luck

    HOT!
Heh, this reminds me of my friends brother. He was literally just a few people behind getting on one of the flights that hit the world trade centers. I wouldn't consider it lucky though. Certainly he is fortunate but alll the events of that day (and the past) lead to exactly that. It's funny...

    Misconception: Wealth = Luck

    HOT!
Luck comes down completely on how you view events in your life. I'll start off with a few quick examples. I cannot remember the philosophers name but he was an atheist until one event in his life. Something happened with his carriage while traveling and it almost feel into a river below the...

    Misconception: Wealth = Luck

    HOT!
<rant> This has been bugging me lately. People are constantly telling me that in order to get rich you must work hard (agreed) and also get lucky. I hate this idea of getting "lucky" because at the end of the day those "lucky" people are just persistent. Try thinking of a few people that...

Quality Control for Ratings and Reviews?

I don't know what you're really involved in whether it's renting apartments more whatever but here is my idea: If this is a business which people have to give quite a bit of information about them to stay at it perhaps have anyone that stays in your place in a database. When they are placed...

    The "Luck Struck" Progress Thread

    WEB/DIGITAL
I think you could reformat it yourself to help sell better without paying someone else. I may sound like a jerk for this but usually when I see websites like the one you have I tend not even bother reading (actually just like I did). All of the random highlighting in it and all of it centered...

Random Idea - Plantable Candy Wrappers

    IDEA
Great idea Yves! Thanks for the input everyone. I've just sent an e-mail to a few Biology teachers here on campus to see if they can give any ideas and answer a few questions. While this isn't exactly something I'm passionate about, I'd love to see it made (heck, I'd use it haha) so I'll...

Random Idea - Plantable Candy Wrappers

    IDEA
Thanks for the links Russ! I'll definitely be looking into that. Disappointing that 110F is it's limit, but as with everything surely it's not impossible to make something better or just improve upon that. CVentures: it'd definitely be worth trying to talk to some companies about it. I'd...

Random Idea - Plantable Candy Wrappers

    IDEA
Fanocks: Honestly, the main reason why I posted that I probably won't pursue it is that it just seems overwhelming. I'm not going to lie though, after reading through your post it really made me start thinking about pursuing it. I have other idea's I am pursue (programming projects) if I am...

Random Idea - Plantable Candy Wrappers

    IDEA
The seed would be in something like that decomposable paper looking stuff. Have you ever seen the things that look like a piece of paper that you can plant. Sorry I cannot use more technical terms or explain it better, it really just came to me like 30 minutes ago and just thought I'd see...

Random Idea - Plantable Candy Wrappers

    IDEA
So, today in my programming course I was bored and this idea came to my head. I believe it could be 'successful' at a time like this for two reason. The constant talking about global warming\pollution and the current economy. Global warming\Pollution: By having something that decomposes or...

    The Fastlane Office

The more I threw the idea of moving to Scottsdale (or around there) in my head the better it sounded. Really, I cannot think of any real con's to in (in comparison to England) other than it is not my dream location. I could definitely sacrifice that for a while though in order to be around...

    The Fastlane Office

I think that sounds like an awesome idea. I'm the same way, I came home for the weekend and I have done virtually nothing productive. I sit down to work and then just so many things make it hard to concentrate and get something done. I do have a question about this though. What do you think...

    Stewart Vs. Cramer

    INVESTING
Camski in my opinion the difference is that Stewart is not advertising his show as a way to benefit people. It isn't their to really change people political values, and he doesn't (in a serious way) try to make people believe that doing a certain thing will benefit them. On the contrary though...

not as rich as they were...

    OFF-TOPIC
This is in a sense a guess but I think most of their 'wealth' is in the form of their business. That being said with the economic problems their businesses are suffering a bit so their net worth also suffers.

how to get from idea to reality???

    IDEA
Well, it's not like there is exactly a software that they used to build the websites. They have all sorts of programmers in order to make their interactive websites. Some languages of interest would be HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL (for a database) to begin to learn. The are also many...

    Pay Per Click Fraud

    WEB/DIGITAL
Jaytrader is really on the right track on how to do it. All you have to do after that would be to code something to periodically, like every 10 minutes or so, look through the file and keep track of how many of each IP address is there. That way once it reaches a certainly limit then it can...

B&P 2010: 30 different ways to get there.

    OFF-TOPIC
Ha, now I am wondering if you mean the actual Upstate New York (like where I am) or if you mean anything above NYC. For some reason the people that are only the bottom of the state but still north of NYC think they are Upstate New York. haha - Sorry to hijack the thread

    iPhone Applications

"Anybody know if there is a guide or any guidelines from Apple for people wanting to create apps for the Iphone?" Well, you'll definitely want to learn Ojective C, C, and\or C++. All languages are able to be used on it, but I do believe the majority of it is Objective C (don't hold me to...
