    Introduction and questions

That'd be correct. Generally people here who are new, and taking action (post about it) will get some though. So it'll be impossible to get to 1000, and have no speed. Also, welcome Karmen!

By inline editing you mean editing of table fields without a page reload, ajax, right?

Apple accused of stealing developer's app

I'm not an Apple fanboy, but in my experience their products are solid. I got a first gen Ipod Nano when it came out, and after 5 (maybe 6?) years it still works after a ton of [accident] abuse. Dropping it while running, riding bikes, stepping on it etc. The LCD is a bit screwed up after...

Accidentaly Almost Quit My Job For Being 10 Hours EARLY

    FUNNY
Being from the same generation as you (21) I want to take a stab at why one method is better than others even without request. Tone is very easy to misconstrue in text\email\etc. It leaves a huge disconnect between an actual person, and a screen. It's very is to just what is said and take...

Please rate and critique my new start-ups salesletter

    HOT!
Frankly, I'd love to have new socks just 'appear' at my door each month (or a specified interval). New socks are the greatest. Even after a few uses their initial amazing comfort deteriorates quickly. Does anyone need it? Probably not, but it'd be an awesome luxury. Especially people like...

Recommended Ways to Promote A New Website!

    MARKETING
Web 2.0 is just a buzzword. Referring to more of the socialization of websites, and more of an emphasis on design (read: gradients, rounded corners). So, the age of the internet to convey ideas, and creation of web apps that can replace desktop solutions (albeit, still not 100%). To be...

    Some feedback about this Forum/site

imgur: the simple image sharer Let's be honest, this is on a 1440x900 resolution on my laptop (chrome so less wasted vertical space), and I see NOTHING at all from what I clicked on. Honestly, I'm fine with the advertising of the book (be stupid not to), but the design definitely needs to...

    Creating Apps (Facebook/iPhone)

    WEB/DIGITAL
Find programmer(s). Idea's are worth *just about* nothing. It's easy to take a good idea, and ruin, while someone else takes the same concept and creates something great.

Welcome Zack! I'm actually familiar with Awesomeness Reminders, and Compassion Pit from HN. Glad to see you here, and good luck!

Whats your opinion of This Week in Startups compared to Mixergy? Personally I prefer mixergy, it seems like there is a lot less 'random' chat in it, and more value per time invested.

That could be debated with absolutely anything you do, yes, even making money. Each individual needs to decide for themselves though. :)

    The Great College Scam

    MINDSET
Slap Chop does was it says it does though. College though, promises 'success', knowledge, and a job. While that is definitely a hard promise to keep, it still in experience of people around me at least doesn't hold to that promise. It seems like one big 'F*ck over people' type deal...

Php, scripts, dynamic, profiles website that accepts payment...??

    WEB/DIGITAL
Most of what you want to do will require a server side language like Python, RoR, or PHP (many others also). Showing calculated prices though would be best to, at least for informational purposes, use Javascript. As alternatives? There are many choices, but you'll still need some type of...

Looking for someone to program an algorithm for me

Snowbank any chance you could PM me, atleast a bit of what you're interested in creating? Obviously the more you feel comfortable giving the better I can assess it. If it sounds like an interesting\fun thing I'd be interested. I have other stuff to be working on, but wouldn't mind spending...

    Have We Lost Our Hunger?

    HOT! MINDSET
This is very much mine line of thinking on this. A big killer (imo) is how we have schools set up. First, and foremost, I'm not insinuating about teachers here, but school as a whole. I know for a fact that I had a teacher who went against the standard, in a more 'doer' type teaching view...

If you aren't using Facebook ads you are missing out!!

    WEB/DIGITAL
Seriously, the amount FB knows on you, really helps get ad's that the end 'customer' might actually be interested in. I've never (intentionally) clicked on ad's on the internet before but fb has actually managed to serve up 2 ads that I've finally thought "hey, I might like that". While...

    HOT! MINDSET
Sorry for being delayed on the updates, been focused on getting stuff done lately. Currently at 220.7 - although the bf on the [cheap] scale is saying 40 something percent now. Guess it was too much to hope for consistency, rather than accuracy. lol

Fastlane Opp -- Who Wants It?

    WEB/DIGITAL
Just out of curiosity, does anyone else feel the popular forums are feature creeps. Vbulletin, phpBB, etc. It hardly seems necessary for the majority of boards to allow the user to switch font size, color, and about half the options they have. I ended up having to just create a 'minimalist'...
