This is what 60 Pounds (27 KGS) Looks Like

    GOLD!
I'm glad it's helpful. And I'm glad you put it this way. I've gotten pretty cynical about internet discussions on fitness and nutrition over the years. These are topics which have very low barriers to entry, and they always seem to turn into slap-fights about pointless disagreements. But...

This is what 60 Pounds (27 KGS) Looks Like

    GOLD!
Although this thread is already packed with too many opinions, why not add one more? I think you're doing the right thing by sticking with a pre-made plan @Vigilante It's great to have options and to debate about this and that, but nothing beats adherence like a set it and forget it strategy...

Think Big, and Then Think Bigger Than That.

    GOLD!
I don't know, I think the way your average driver handles a car makes a great case for the blessing that is the missing jetpack.

The New Web Design Sub Forum (Intro Post)

    SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Great to see this here @Fox I'm not a web designer myself. After I moved overseas about a decade ago I found myself bored waiting on visas to clear. I decided to brush up on my web design skills which I hadn't used since the 90s. I was so out of date that the last time I'd designed a web page...

[Progress] Sanctus Nutrition - Supplement Company (and first real entrepreneurial pursuit)

    NOTABLE!
Great points @Argue It's worth highlighting the point about figuring out who you're talking to and how they're getting to your page. The example of G FUEL is helpful, not (just) because they have great copy. The phrases "great copy" and "converting" are meaningless except as far as they...

[Progress] Sanctus Nutrition - Supplement Company (and first real entrepreneurial pursuit)

    NOTABLE!
It's interesting to see this. I mentioned this to you before, but I don't really think it's your offer or your web page that is the problem. There's something we aren't seeing here about the people you're reaching, and how you're reaching them. I'm with @B. Cole here -- are you aware of any...

    Music that Motivates

    HOT! MINDSET
That's an interesting question. (Sorry I don't have a good answer to it. I could make all kinds of guesses, but it would just be guessing.)

    Music that Motivates

    HOT! MINDSET
Think back to a time that something scared the hell out of you. It could be a movie, could be a haunted house. Could be a time that you saw something out of the corner of your eye that made you jump. Nothing happened to you. Nothing actually hurt you or caused you pain. You felt your heart...

    Music that Motivates

    HOT! MINDSET
When I was in my 20s I was all for speed metal and the dankest of hip hop. These days I prefer more mellow sound. I found that I don't like to use music to get emotionally pumped up for daily life stuff. In fact I even stopped listening to heavy and fast music for workouts. It's great to get...

    Avengers: Infinity War Discussion

    OFF-TOPIC
I saw there was no Silver Surfer and no Adam Warlock and I had to pass.

Applying FastLane Principles to Finding Love?

    HOT! PEOPLE
It's interesting how easily we want to frame this situation as if the question is "what should I do?", and the answer will be something like "go to the gym", "get hypnotized", "recognize your biology", "some stuff I read on a PUA blog". Not that some of these answers aren't insightful. I...

Are Some Businesses Trying to Fail?

You're not wrong about needing to adapt and be flexible to market conditions. But we should be careful about blaming this on deliberate plans. I doubt you'll find any of these business owners feel any real entitlement or have any determination to fail in the way you're thinking. Most likely...

Basic cybersecurity for a new website?

Nah, the point was not to sweat it. If you've got somebody after you who can do anything with the information about your location (a crazy Russian hacker, the NSA), you've already got much bigger problems. Don't log in to your site without SSL and avoid public wifi. You've fixed 98% of your...

Spreading myself too thin. Hi from New Zealand

    INTRO
Hey there Andy. Fellow local here. I almost wrote "Kiwi" but I'm a US transplant who has lived here for 10 years now. Welcome aboard!

Basic cybersecurity for a new website?

Okay, now that I've got some time here's a somewhat more value-added answer: Let's make it clear right now that anonymity of your website or your domain name is not the same thing as what you do online as far as browsing and other kinds of activity go. These are two different sets of concerns...

Basic cybersecurity for a new website?

Install a security plugin like Wordfence or Sucuri. That can do a lot of heavy lifting for you. Are you managing the server yourself, or is this a shared hosting deal? That's the other major thing to worry about. I've got to run to a meeting right this second but I can give more advice about...

    The Cryptocurrency Investing Discussion

    CRYPTO INVESTING
I'd all but forgotten about the thing after all the drama last year. I wasn't sure they were actually going to release a product. Following the charts on the pre-release has given me some hope. I don't know if it's got the goods to be a legitimate ETH challenger, but it could be interesting...

    The Cryptocurrency Investing Discussion

    CRYPTO INVESTING
This thread just reminded me to check my portfolio. Thanks almost entirely to getting in on Bitcoin when it was ~$1.5K and the Tezos ICO, my portfolio is still looking okay. Most of my alts, I can't say the same about. All I can say is that I'm damn glad I read Nassim Taleb before throwing any...

Which operating system do you and other entrepreneurs use? (computer and mobile)

Dual boot Ubuntu and Win 7. Linux for developing and server admin stuff via the terminal. Windows I find better for writing since it has native support for Scrivener and Evernote.
