That book was one of my starting points. It's easily the best book for anyone who wants to start drawing. Learning to see—to REALLY see—is a superpower. I loved it, and it's definitely one of the things that helped me improve the most. Most other books on drawing focus on shortcuts and...

Does anyone else feels like stuff they learned in the past is holding them back? Here's an example: I like drawing, but I feel like I'm stuck using the same construction techniques I learned when I was a beginner. I wish I could unlearn them and free myself from their shackles. They are meant...

Tumblr banned porn in 2018, effectively killing the site. They lost so many users (and revenue) by doing it. And it's not clear what were the benefits. Porn was one of tumblr's pillars.

Government is the strongest gang of pillagers in a given area. That's how governments started. The various gangs fought each other and the strongest one settled as government. It's better to force subjugated populations to pay a fee for your troubles. Pillaging them once and then having to let...

    How to Monetize WordPress Blog?

Here's what you could do off the top of my head: Search for "crypto ad network" on Google and implement one on your blog. I'm not a fan of ad networks because you never know what you end up promoting. There's very little control. What if it's a product you don't endorse? Get referral codes from...

It just doesn't affect me. I imagine a colorless world when I read books like 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and The Handmaid's Tale, but I don't let it influence me. Some people are more affected than others by dark movies, books, and music. I don't know why. I guess we're wired differently? Spot on...

I just finished re-reading 1984 by George Orwell yesterday. I read it in Italian about a year and a half ago, and in English this week. Now I'm re-reading Wuthering Heights, plus I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo for the first time on my Paperwhite. Next will probably be The Master and...

I know right. What kind of dark magic is that? Finding THREE new GPUs at once? Here's a not so fun GPU story. Around the end of June my GPU wasn't working properly. My PC would turn off under heavy load (codeword for: I was playing videogames). I was desperate because finding a replacement...

I see a lot of doomposting in this thread, but I feel like things are going to get better soon! I expect this nonsense to be over by winter / next spring. I don't have any logical explanation for this. Just my gut feeling. Keep your chin up :smile2: The average person is scared of strong...

Who fact checks the fact checkers? What gives them the power / authority to do their job? We don't even know the rules of fact checking. We just know there's this outside entity that decides if something is right or wrong. Fact checkers are worthless. As are mainstream journalists. Disgusting...
