Somebody told me not too long ago: "The market doesn't pay us for input, but for output."

Lex DeVille's - I Deleted My Upwork Account...

    NOTABLE! SIDE HUSTLE
Many people won't realize that copywriting (web design, landing pages, etc.) is just one part of a bigger picture. Once you educate your clients about the other parts of their funnels, the game is on. If your clients are good operators, they'll understand that @SinisterLex's copy will work...

Deaf and Daft, getting my first sale

    EXECUTION
First off, @jpanarra, you are an inspiration to all of us. I have mad respect for your attitude towards life. You worked your a$$ off. You learned a ton of new skills. Yet, the results are not as expected. Are you in for a little thought train? What if...? What if you stopped...

[Progress] Graphic Designer Going Freelance & Fastlane

    EXECUTION
The Calm After (Or Before?) The Storm Chasing Paper Over the last 4 months (counting June too), I was able to stabilize my income. Due to a big project that is about to come to an end, my revenues were in a steady mid 4 figure range. I was working crazy shifts, long hours, early mornings, late...

When did you realize the system is rigged?

    NOTABLE!
Experience one: "One of these mornings." I had one of these moments when I was 14 and took one of my first internships over the summer. I finished my year at high school and then got all excited the next Monday, when I entered the office at 7:30, ready to tear the world apart. Well, a few...

    Seriously Commited Accountability Partner

    PEOPLE
I never said it was easy or that it would happen overnight. I just shared what worked for me. Maybe I phrased it wrong? I was procrastinating for a long time, looking for mentors, accountability partners and such. I was looking for somebody holding my hand. It was not until I decided to...

    Seriously Commited Accountability Partner

    PEOPLE
You know who the best accountability partner is? Yourself. You don't need anybody to hold yourself accountable. If you want it bad enough. Go out and do it.

PSA: Do most of your work on a computer? Then invest in a better laptop.

    MINDSET
Wow, nice wake up call @AgainstAllOdds . I'm a mooch when it comes to buying stuff, but sometimes it cost you more than you'll save if you are greedy. I'm more of a desktop guy and therefore, my setup is a 2 x 24 inch monitor cockpit connected to a lightening fast station (Windows). Every now...

    Best tool/software for creating animations?

    MARKETING
There are a million ways to Rome. It depends on your style and preference. Same here - a matter of style and choice. That goes without saying. But then again, all this starts with the script. The question is if MJ has everything ready and wants it animated, or if he wants a full...

    Profit margin over total production

Get a specific and detailed quote for your prototype. Find 3-5 competitors, tell them about the quote (but not the company who quoted you and other details) and have them compete. Pick the for you best offer - that might not be the cheapest - and pay it. Make sure you get all the plans etc...

    Best tool/software for creating animations?

    MARKETING
I few months back, I would have said the same. But when thinking about operating a business, opportunity cost etc, it's better to outsource it. Unless you want to learn that kind of skill for the future?

    Profit margin over total production

I personally would stay away from such a deal. First of all, 10% is high in my opinion. Let's say your prototype's actual cost is $ 1000. You get this to work and order a volume of 1000 pieces the first year. Let's assume your product costs $ 20 per piece to manufacture. That's a total bill...

    Profit margin over total production

What if it stays 1 prototype? 100 prototypes are already a first badge, right? One one production, on the first production or on every following production? Cost for prototype plus 10% commission is a bit steep in my view.

    Best tool/software for creating animations?

    MARKETING
Hey @MJ DeMarco! You'd need more than just one software. You'd need to draw the graphics for your entire story board with a graphic program. A good illustrator might draw them by hand and then digitize them later on. You'd then import these graphics into a motion graphics software. I worked...

I'm broke, it's time to change

    INTRO
Couldn't agree more with @Gigi Rodgers - stop faking action @axjjj! Amen. I have been in the game for a few months and only hired an accountant a few weeks back. Why? Because I have reasonable revenue and taxes are due. @axjjj - can you find your first client this week?

    INTRO
This... Just go out and help people. Start with the person next to you. Start with what you know TODAY. You'll never be ready. You'd do them a disservice if you didn't help them right now. Looking for a challenge? Go out and find one local business owner to help within 1 day. Do it for...
