HOT! CHATSame goes for the warnings on cigarette packs. In Germany the smoking rates went down after they were implemented. I think one reason why taxes and warnings work, is because they especially keep people from even starting to smoke. A heavy smoker may not stop smoking because they need to pay more...- Supa

HOT! CHATMany European countries, and I'm sure Australia as well, have quite heavy restrictions on food. Many things that may be allowed in the US are not in some European countries and Australia. So yeah, if they could, many corporations probably would. They simply are not allowed to.- Supa

30 Day Depression Routine
HOT! MINDSETDepression, and many other so-called "disorders" are not disorders at all. There is not something wrong with you or your mental health if you show symptoms of one of these "disorders". They are ways of our psyche and our bodies to protect us. Once you stop to look at depression as something to...- Supa

HOT! CHATThat's a great way to look at it. It's fascinating to see how riled up people get over things that are meant to be entertainment. One does not have to strip their life off any entertainment, but one should see it as what it is - entertainment, something to bring you joy - and not as one's life...- Supa

A New Path to the Fastlane - App Development
EXECUTIONYesterday I finished the 100th day and the epilogue of the 100 Days of SwiftUI. Absolutely fantastic course, as everything by Paul Hudson! I also love that he offers the whole course for free, as he says, to help everyone to learn Swift and SwiftUI no matter how much they earn. I already...- Supa

HOT! CHATFor a long time I defended Reddit and saw it as a good alternative to other, more influencer and short videos based social media platforms. Mainly because of how I use it: to get news on topics I'm interested in, like my favorite authors, programming, upcoming Marvel and Star Wars stuff, and...- Supa

Addiction Doesn’t Exist: The Billion-Dollar Lie Keeping You Stuck
BOOKS MINDSET HEALTHIf you put it into terms of an addiction being something that someone does to fill an emptiness inside (simply put), than this all makes sense. Instead of alcohol your friend is now filling his emptiness with sport. It may be a healthier way of doing so, but in the end it's still, at least to...- Supa

HOT! CHATThis is how I see it as well. It's probably a gesture he didn't think through. Calling it a "Roman salute", like many seem to do online now, though, is utter bullshit.- Supa

HOT! CHATSince when is the Script a left thing? Lol. When reading Unscripted, I always assumed being Scripted referred to following what any kind of authority tells you to do and believe, not just those of one political spectrum. So blindly following ANY authority, including Musk, is also living by a...- Supa

HOT! CHATOr you could try a different approach. Try not to just do what many others do. Instead of going on and on and on about how great you are at what you do, why not focus on them instead. And with them I mean your potential customers. Look at this thread to see how far honesty and a willingness to...- Supa

HOT! CHATCame across this quote, that I find fitting to the above topic: “In my work with the defendants (at the Nuremberg Trials 1945-1949) I was searching for the nature of evil and I now think I have come close to defining it. A lack of empathy. It’s the one characteristic that connects all the...- Supa

The big question: What exactly is going to change?
NOTABLE! EXECUTIONFor me it is to put the focus on consistency in all my endeavours. Until now I have only consistently worked on some goals, while leaving other goals to motivation and inspiration. I want to change that to apply a process to all my goals and follow it consistently, day by day.- Supa

HOT! CHATAs someone from Germany, who has spent a great deal of time in school learning about both world wars and what led to them, I can say that there is a lot of truth in your post, though some important pieces are missing. What Hitler and the NSDAP (the Nazis) did, was to promise a country that was...- Supa

HOT! CHATYou see this in all kinds of things. people try to fit in with the currently popular opinion. Politics is just one example. The problem is, that many people don‘t form their own opinions. And they don‘t keep them flexible, so that when they learn something new, they can adjust their opinions...- Supa
