Thanks for the wealth of info guys! I got pretty much the same story from a patent lawyer I talked to. Before I saw the video I hadn't considered making the source code for my product open source. EXECUTIONNo I didn't file for the provisional patent yet. I think I'll complete the prototype first then gather a few people in a focus group and get their thoughts on the product.
