    Job losses by county

It looks like Michigan was hit first. It must be the auto industry.

    The "Remember When" Thread ...

    OFF-TOPIC CHAT
Missile Command... how could I forget that one. I played that for hours. You can't imagine how dismayed I was years ago when I returned from my out of state college, only to find that my mom had gotten rid of the Atari and all my games. I'm sure such a collection would bring in some cash from...

Biggest Real Estate Failure in U.S. History

    REAL ESTATE
Ok, I'll throw in my penny's worth of info here. When I opened a mall kiosk in Christmas 07, many of the retailers were complaining about it being a very bad year. I didn't reopen in 08, but I did stop by and chat with some of the same retailers. They said that season was worse. When I went...

    Why I Sold My Harley

    OFF-TOPIC
What a lot of people don't realize is that when you see a person on a scooter, there is a good chance their license is suspended. This usually occurs after a DUI arrest. They dont have a valid license so they are forced to drive something that will only hurt themselves if they get drunk again...

    Why I Sold My Harley

    OFF-TOPIC
If you need to convince someone to wear a seat belt or be careful on a motorcycle, just ask them if they would ever go skydiving. Most will say "No way", but about 10% will say “yeah”. Then ask them if they would jump without a parachute. Most will say “no”. When you ask why, they say "I...

    Why I Sold My Harley

    OFF-TOPIC
I'm talking from the viewpoint of someone that used to conduct Federal Inspections on trucks. People in that profession are trained to be more observant. Just like you would expect an average driver to be more careful around a kid on a bike. Granted, the bike operater should have been...

    100 mph - 0

    HOT!
It sounds like you are on the right track. As for not knowing anything about computers, there are people here that do. That being said, from what I know this is not a place for a free ride. You'll get encouragement, advice, and make friends here, but you are expected to do your share...

    Why I Sold My Harley

    OFF-TOPIC
I have to agree. The truck is at fault. Apart from not scanning ahead and slowing down, he is a professional driver (commercial trucker). He is supposed to be better than most drivers. Second point, CHECK YOUR REAR VIEW MIRRORS. The scooter rider did look, but by then it was too late...

    The Law of Detachment

    MINDSET
That was a good clarification of two different philosophies. I agree with what you are saying. I believe what you advocate has been termed as Compassionate Conservatism. In other words, you have to have the freedoms (political, financial, mental) to go out and earn profits. You have an...
