My journey to $8k/month of income in 6 months.

    EXECUTION
Thought I'd give a progress thread to any newcomers who may want some encouragement, (or even for those experienced who have feedback for me). The Unscripted framework DOES, in fact, work - if you follow it. And it's incredible. I am in the middle of it, haven't "made it" - however do reap many...

Does anyone else dislike the "Startup" community?

    RANT
Something I forgot to mention - what urks me is lots of startups featured in those "now this" or "tech insider" videos on FB are always getting millions on crowdfunding websites for "reinventing" products with a F*cking USB port added to it and then calling it the "smart" X. "Now you can...

This had me dying laughing lol. That's exactly what I thought! None of these people ever seem to be creating something people will pay for. I would never be one to say that failure is bad, because it's important. But a lot of people, specifically lots in the startup community, kind of...

Mark Cuban: Guide to Getting Rich... just terrible.

    OFF-TOPIC
I think a lot of these guys are in a popularity contest - as long as they're in the limelight building their personal brand, it's good for them and they'll continue to have influence. For that reason, they give advice people will like to hear. Same thing with guys like Grant Cardone. Love a...

This is my biggest pet peeve, any time a company says they're going to be the UBER of X, I want to throw up in my mouth.

I found this book SO dreadful as well. What I did like though, was drilling home the point of minimum viable product, using testing to better understand how to serve the need better than anyone else. Again, stuff explained in MFL and unscripted, just expanded on. What I don't like is the...

Welcome to the forum! I agree with the feedback to read the gold threads. A lot of great advice in the forum that I wish I took a long time ago.

Exactly. And the funny thing is, these types of people worship Elon Musk because he does things to "propel the world forward" and isn't just concerned about money. But don't realize how much value he had to create to make his dreams a reality.

Ask Me Anything About SaaS ( I'm building my 7th )

    GOLD! HOT! SAAS / APPS
Okay, my new question for the day lol. I know that, in starting a business, you shouldn't be focused just on money or liquidation - you should focus on value. That being said, you mentioned selling some of your businesses, and this is my end goal as well. I have NO clue, so I'm curious, what...

Great posts on partnerships @eliquid . I've also found that with partnerships, you kind of have a gut feeling at times too on whether you can trust someone. Given, this can mislead you at times, so I'm not sure how much other's trust their guts. However, in my experience, when things don't feel...

Does anyone else dislike the "Startup" community?

A bit of a rant here - I'm just curious what everyone's opinion is of their local "startup" community. It was "Startup Week" this October in my town (not sure if this is a global thing), so there was a few open events. Honestly, a majority of the community seems really self-absorbed. Constantly...

Awesome! I also find that as you grow and face challenges you learn what you need to. When I started I barely knew what a function was. About 4 months ago I made the jump from a go daddy server to managing my own Linux server. Was scary as hell at first but you gotta force yourself to learn it...

Awesome to hear this from someone with some experience! This has always been my thought. I'm an avg PHP developer, relatively good at jquery (like you said, easy languages to get to market right away) But when you talk to guys who are full time programmers, with a programmer mindset, they're...

One last question. It seems lots of people claim you can't build an extremely profitable company without stopping programming yourself and hiring outside programmers so you can focus on the business, etc. I'm a programmer with business experience, and I've had trouble giving up control to other...

Thank you for all your feedback! To clarify on above - I meant more so initial training and consulting them on go-fwd steps after they purchase. I find these reduce churn rate, it's easy enough now with 1 new client a month but when I want to get to 20 it's impossible. I do see your point on...

Two questions for you sir! 1) I own a b2b company portal software that hosts company announcements, documents, training, etc and the idea is it's easy to use, non intimidating, way to create a private corporate portal. My competitors are very expensive, time intensive, and have someone that...

What are your thoughts on "Privilege"?

    HOT! MINDSET
Yes. And I'm sure some may not agree, but I think us as entrepreneurs have a responsibility to reach out and help people who aren't as lucky, I think it's the meaning of life. That's why I admire MJ - he helped open the door for many other people who may not have come to the realisation...

What are your thoughts on "Privilege"?

    HOT! MINDSET
This is an interesting question I often think about. I think the ultimate goal is you have to believe free will exists, and you can do anything to get out of your situation. Otherwise, what else can you do? That being said, I have a close friend, his brother died when he was 10 (gang violence)...

Yep In Canada, we have Employment Insurance for layoffs - not sure if this is the same thing in US. Anyway, I have a ton of friends who are on EI and just sit around doing nothing. It's insane, the things I'd be able to get done with all expenses paid and 14 free hours per day.
