    Ecommerce | Shopify/Amazon etc.

Don't necessarily discount Amazon and Shopify. The benefit of Amazon is that people on Amazon have strong buying intent and you can expose your product to a massive amount of people. A Shopify site automatically provides the tech/tools to sell on your site, which would be more difficult to do on...

    Ecommerce | Shopify/Amazon etc.

It doesn't necessarily violate CENTS. For Commandment of Control, diversify your channels. Violating Control would be if you sold only on Amazon or only through Shopify. If you have multiple distribution channels then it is not a violation of Control, as MJ mentions in UNSCRIPTED on pg. 242...

Doing $75,000 USD Per WEEK (Service Business)

    GOLD! HOT! EXECUTION
Hey @458 Great information in this thread. You mentioned you are in a market with a cap around 100-200m. How are you able to make hundreds of thousands of calls sustainably? Won’t you reach the entire market pretty quickly? In another thread you answered a question similar to this but I’m...

Having problems sourcing a good teeth whitening supplier.

    SOURCING
Have you contacted the sellers on Alibaba? What specifically are your health concerns with the kits? You need to do research on teeth whitening kits and figure out what makes them safe and not. Then, contact the Alibaba manufacturers and ask them about what they use in their kits, etc...

    I've Read UNSCRIPTED!

    GOLD! HOT!
Finished re-reading UNSCRIPTED all the way through again. I much prefer it to TMF, although both are great. UNSCRIPTED is now like my business handbook. Full of pencil notes, post-its, and worn down edges. I find myself referring back to various chapters pretty frequently and I throw the book...

    Failure. Advice requested, please!

Is there an entry-level job you could get in the wastewater industry? You could try and replace your minimum wage jobs driving the forklift and moving furniture with a minimum wage job in the wastewater industry. Then, since it sounds like you are cash-strapped, you could have a sidehustle to...

Building and monetizing an educational site

    EXECUTION
Update: 02/11/19 ENOUGH action faking. I'm tired of it. The past few months have been rough, and I've really hit the point of just feeling like: F$@K I can't keep living this way. Something needs to change. What needs to change is I need to take real action. I'm struggling monetizing because...

Idea I had and how I'm trying to make it work

    IDEA
Have you interacted with the market at all before investing this much cash into developing an app? You need soft proof that your solution to a problem is valuable before even worrying about developing a full-fledged app, getting investors, a team, etc. Are you guessing that there is a Chinese...

Idea I had and how I'm trying to make it work

    IDEA
Ideas are useless without execution. If someone can "steal" your idea and profit off it so easily to where you are afraid to share it with anyone, then you should revisit the Commandment of Entry. Have you read TMF or UNSCRIPTED? I think that a lot of your questions would be answered. The idea...

    No ideas? No opportunities? Seriously?!

    IDEA MINDSET
Interesting read. Some parts I found particularly notable: You'd think that low-productivity jobs would be replaced by automation when in fact the opposite happening. The number of low-productivity jobs are increasing while high-productivity jobs are diminishing, because automation is...

Should I go to the birthday party?

    MEETUPS
Being part of Fastlane is making decisions on your own. Not sure why you need to ask the forum about a decision so inconsequential as this. Cheers, Ryan

Landing page or direct download link

    MARKETING
I don't have experience with this, but I would say do both. From direct, paid advertising (e.g. Instagram ads, FB ads), direct people directly to the app store download page. And from influencer marketing and social media marketing I'd direct them to a landing page. My reason being is that...

If you could only pass on one life lesson to everyone on this forum, what would it be?

    NOTABLE! MINDSET
Sam Harris has some great basic meditation resources: How to Meditate | Sam Harris For something more in-depth, I also highly recommend "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" by Shunryu Suzuki to learn why to meditate and the essence of practicing sitting. For something more easily digestible and written...

Teaching People How to Memorize Books Online (Progress Thread)

    EXECUTION
Your site is looking better. But you should add a headline and a CTA (such as "Start here" button) overtop that bokeh photograph. When a user lands on your homepage, what do you want them to do? The headline should succinctly tell them the purpose of the site, and then have a CTA that is the...

PSA: Reading TMFL or Unscripted does not mean that you can be a lazy idiot!

    MINDSET RANT
As Gary Vaynerchuk says in this video: College is a f*cking vacation. I'm in college right now and completely agree. Getting by in college is easier than high school because at least you don't have to spend 8 hours a day in class, rather you spend 3-4 hours.

    Blogger Making $7-10k/month

    INTRO
Welcome Jon! I agree with Martin that you shouldn't build a second affiliate site for the same reasons. Are you selling any high-ticket products or services? You may want to look into webinars (which you can make automated) as I have read they are very effective and I am looking into...

    What habit changed your life?

    HOT! MINDSET
Waking up at 5am (and going to sleep early) Going to gym first thing in morning Cold showers in the morning Daily journaling High protein meal as first meal of day (don't start your day with a crash) Zazen practice (highly recommend "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" by Suzuki if you're interested)

Ideas from Teenage Shark Tank Contestants

    IDEA
Huh, interesting about the student loans/colleges ads. I run an education site and might be interested. Is it usually just being an affiliate for the student loan provider/college?

    When to change plans

Test, test, test. I've had this problem of not knowing when to quit. You may want to read "The Dip" by Seth Godin. I found a lot of it was fluff, but some good information regardless. Basically, I was assuming a lot about the market, my product, the business, etc. and had nothing to back it...

Building and monetizing an educational site

    EXECUTION
Update 12/8/18 Site is continuing to grow. I am up to around 1500 monthly unique visitors without zero paid advertising. I also am managing to convert on average 20-30% of visitors into email signups, so I now have a more substantial email list of about 1000. Average time on site is now up to...
