OFF-TOPIC
Thanks for the explanation. Wow! you really do know about this stuff. I know that Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) was particularly proud to play a role as fourth in command. She said in an inteview that it was a great statement for that time (60's) to have a woman in a leadership role, especially...

SPOILER!!- Star Trek movie details/discussion

OFF-TOPIC
I would bet you are right in that they leave the timeline as is. That would open up many new possibities like you said. I also think they will get at least one more movie out of this; more depending on how well the younger generations like it. As far as Pike goes, I was unfamiliar with...

It's funny you posted this. I just got back from watching it. I'll say this much, I'm glad they didn't botch it like so many remakes of 60's and 70's era shows have (Wild, Wild, West/ Starsky and Hutch). They stayed pretty much true to form in this movie. I have to admit that I walked into...

The $300,000,000 Button

WEB/DIGITAL
Along the same train of thought as dissatisfied customer, I have another observation. When I was a kid, a product advertised a contest, you would purchase it, open it, and find out if you won or not. Now, you buy a product, you open it, and then you get a 25 character code that you are...

Anyone up for a lil Chaos Theory?

OFF-TOPIC
I think there was a movie called "Intersection", that dealt with choices leading up to a bad car accident. It's been years since I've seen it, so don't remember the details. As for the Infinite universes theory, I've heard it but don't subscribe to it. The reason being is...

LOL not quite me, But I did know a guy like that though. He would walk up to the girls at church and try to hug them ( a little too long). He found out real quick not to try that with my girl friend. I'm not a die hard trekie, but the movie is coming out this weekend. My question is...

The "Remember When" Thread ...

OFF-TOPIC CHAT
Do you remember the old, solid metal IBM Typewriters? The kind that weighed a ton. Admittedly, it was my mom's (her generation), but I remember moving it for her. Then do you remember how excited people got when the electric typewriters came out? Everyone would watch the ball (looked...

SMS Question

WEB/DIGITAL
Do you guys know of any bulk email service that also has SMS Messaging (or vice versa)? I spoke with a rep. from Aweber.com who informed me they don't have that option. Is that just their company, or is that the industry norm? So far in my limited searches I've seen both types of companies...

Wow! not fun for now, but you'll enjoy it later. Next time you post a wedding question, you should ask, " Should I go on my Honeymoon Right Away?" You might get Fred Sanford's famous answer, "Yes, you Dummy!" (Jk) Ofcourse, I will freely dispense wedding advice since I'm not married :)...
