It's been another two months...any update?

Books and info about how to get started in real state

I have just started in the past year to learn about this industry. Haven't done a deal yet, partly because of time wasted, other part is just spending time just getting fastlane mindset and figuring out where/how I want to proceed. Biggest tools for me have been the bigger pockets forum and...

What you like about the book

It just made sense and opened my eyes to "the other side." While I am nowhere near Fastlane yet, it changed my mindset in that I should start thinking different ways. Like above said, it involves numbers/formulas and they make sense. I've heard of entrepreneurs yada yada, and never really...

Dream cities (or towns) to live in?

    OFF-TOPIC
I like the idea of keep moving around from city to city. Think I definitely need to do this, as I like change. Doesn't fit my current situation now. I agree with Lights...Las Vegas would be fun to be in for awhile, even though I have been 4 times already. I enjoy poker a lot though, so I am...

Dream cities (or towns) to live in?

    OFF-TOPIC
Heard tons of people rave about Austin for sure, San Diego also. Personally, I have yet to check either of these out. I was also interested in Florida. Probably a bunch of older people there, but I think this would be an awesome place to live?

Flipping high-end luxury and exotic cars?

    HOT!
I actually had a question about the formula you used...it's been awhile, but I vaguely remember you tacked on 3-4% for tax or something like that...shouldn't this be a lot higher? I think that's a major issue when I think about flipping a car, unless you go the route of not assigning the title...

At a crossroad. My aunt, job opportunity, future

    PEOPLE
There are a lot better jobs you can get with no college degree. Working at a bank will give you an automatic 10-15 for being a teller or something else. 9/hr is rough and isn't that much. After taxes you're talking about like 1000 a month, if that.

student,poker....what is next? Hallo from Germany

I came from poker myself, but I live in the USA...all I really need to say about that and why I don't play anymore :( You can make decent cash flow playing 200/400nl. It definitely isn't slowlane but it gives you a job that allows for a ton of freedom, especially cash games. I used to play...

Myers Briggs Inspired Employment Website: Feedback Please!

I am job hunting for essentially the same work--dull, repetitive...somehow in my mind I think it will create excitement or be better than current. What I should be doing is working on Fastlane like it has been mentioned on this forum, instead of wasting man hours hunting for the same shithole...

Fastlane Path- Real Estate Vs. Starting a company

    EXECUTION
Startup>RE obviously, but for those of us that still fail at thinking of an idea (execution way more important of course) for a startup, Real Estate is a good way to escape something that barely pays 30-40k a year in a cubicle, provides freedom, and allows quick building of capital. If I had...

Breaking out of the Utah "Bubble"

Welcome to the forum! Working in your field should help you tons, and that would be a good industry to have a first hand look at what you can do to help others. If you ever get overwhelmed with ideas, throw them my way! lol

    Sad Day Motivation

    MINDSET
I don't think I really have a sad story as of yet..It's more of a pity party/wtf am I doing/why am I being so lazy when every two weeks, that check gets auto posted into my account. I set a budget, see the awesome $300 I get to save out of that check, become too afraid to spend money outside of...

Hello Everyone! Beginning to move out of slowlane/ sidewalk

    SLOWLANE
Welcome! I, too, worked on first getting myself out of debt. I had almost 10k in CC debt as of Sep of last year...finally cleared it earlier this year, have a $1k emergency fund set up, and now just "slowlane-saving" while working and living cheaply while thinking up a fast lane...or possibly...

What does your days look like?

    OFF-TOPIC
Slowlane perspective...I'll bite 6:00am, wake up or get up after being woken up by the dog 60x during the night. Dress, brush teeth, comb hair, grab breakfast. Pissed off mood about all of this. 6:35am, out the door and in traffic going to the cube...faggot in the right line speeding past...

Open question to MJ (other successes welcome!)

I read books once through and then go back through, skimming this time and jot down important ideas from each chapter. Huge waste of unproductive time (being busy doesn't mean you're productive). Told myself I would quit this process after I finished up my last book I am working on.

    Eating out almost everyday

    HOT! EXECUTION
I budget 150 bucks/every 2 weeks (paid semi monthly), and usually I come close to it, but usually never over unless friends come to town. Groceries amount to about 50-60 apiece between my gf and I, and we used to alternate meals on going out. We do Chinese a couple of times in there, and I hit...

FINALLY quit my high paying salary job to create, build and grow!!!

Care to share your background in terms of wealth and how much of your idea you had put together before you quit? Ie, did you have your idea, already have it launched, six months of expenses, etc...or did you just up and quit when you realized that isn't what you wanted to do? Congrats btw!

Real Estate fanatic from South Florida

This is probably dependent by area, but you mentioned you are with a luxury brokerage...do you find it easier to sell luxurious houses down there than Single Family smaller homes? In my area (Kansas City), it would probably be completely opposite of down there. I have a fascination with big...

Real Estate fanatic from South Florida

How long have you been an agent? What are your commission splits? Did you know anything about RE before becoming an agent? Why did you become one? Interested in hearing your story, because I am debating doing this myself. Been reading about RE and investing, but don't know if I really want...

    What do you hate?

    HOT! MINDSET
God, I love to sleep. I get you on the time waster, but nothing better than falling into a soft mattress/pillow. Plus, you have nothing to worry about when you're sleeping...just get to let your subconscious take over and create anything.
