Ever wonder how people end up in dead end jobs at 40?

    GOLD!
I'd like to say this was different in a military environment...but it's not, at least not at headquarters with people who are "this" close to becoming a general officer, brigade commander, etc. Wow.

Here is a link to the MSNBC spot: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/openforum/videos/valuecrates/ Turned out pretty well. Didn't get my last line in, but otherwise went 99% according to script. One thing that I've learned in this process is that while they did a great job...

Ok fine, you exposed me :) After 8 years of writing speeches, talking points, narratives, etc I have a sense of what makes for a compelling story. The way you described the "hidden message" behind my flow and structure is exactly what I intended. You mapped it exactly how I thought it. Are...

I sent the email after watching the show two Sundays ago (they end the segment with "if you have a great idea, email us here at [email protected]). Here is what I wrote: Hello! I just saw the Elevator Pitch this morning, and I think our company ValueCrates (link to website) would be a great...

Appreciate that man - like I said before, I feel closer to a lot of the people at that meetup than my own family. There is just a bond there that's hard to describe. Such an awesome group of people to associate with.

Well that was a pretty amazing experience! Folks, all it took to get on the show was sending a damn email. ONE EMAIL. If you went to the meetup, you have what it takes too because you're an action taker and you're willing to put yourself out there. A little about the show: -Show is MSNBCs...

20k cash. What business would you start?

    EXECUTION
That's why I reacted so strongly...because it's clear that the questioning is coming from a place of "I know better than you guys" as opposed to "I respect your opinion, but I disagree because (insert well thought out reasoning)" Edit: I question EVERYTHING...but when I decided to give heavy...

Stuff like this really pisses me off. Three people (Gilman, KFS, and vis a vis Biophase) who are very successful are offering their opinion, all borne from incredible experience and sacrifice, and instead of just STFU and listening, you have to argue with them. After 7 years of continuous...

Plus as @LightHouse and others have mentioned, those who meet in person at the meetups (especially more than one year) often form a very close bond. This shit we do is hard, and having a network of people who care about you is critical. I am closer to many people here than I am to my own...

It feels both very right and very scary, but after the meetup I knew that I'd always regret not capitalizing on the momentum and believing in myself. Will things work perfectly? Probably not, but for my sanity and my family's future I have to give this everything I've got.
