Do you take any kind of stimulants?

    HEALTH
Yes, sometimes. For example, adrafinil for jetlag. But the best stimulant in the world is 8+ hours of sleep opportunity every night, without fail. If you're tired it means your brain or some other part of your body needs to initiate its maintenance mode to keep you from burning out, taking...

Can Self-Hypnosis Lead to a Better Life?

    MINDSET
Changing yourself precedes changing your environment. Sure, you can use hypnosis, gnosis, or any other -osis that works for you.

Already on the road to success but want to quit because not in line with my values

To alleviate the problem of having your income directly tied to time, maybe there is some what you could license or rent out your art, eventually. Turn it into an asset that gives you revenue over time.

Completely stuck again with my business

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE
Yes, what you're missing is that this is only a partial goal. It doesn't answer the question of "how" or "by what means" will you realize that increase. Goals left in this state are demotivating. They will make you give up, in time. You have to keep going and say "I'll do this and this once a...

Completely stuck again with my business

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE
A few things might be happening here. You're spending energy on your day job, and on the weekend you want to relax and unwind. Nothing wrong with this feeling. You just have to decide if it's worth overcoming until you ditch the day job. Your motivation level is just low. You forgot why...

If it helps, I knew a person who was quadriplegic (from age 14, diving accident) and started and ran a service business in a licensed industry. He provided expertise and management, others provided hands, phone answering, etc. We all get by with what we've got.

    Tech Start-Up Progress/Execution

    EXECUTION
Sounds like an adventure! I'm curious... are the materials especially expensive, and that's why you need two full time jobs to fund this development? I'm surprised you find time and motivation after (presumably) 80 hours of work in the week. At the same time I admire the work ethic.

How does a 22-yr-old scientist find business insights? MBA? Meet-ups?

Does she want to contact someone at an optical manufacturer? Maybe that's a good idea, even if it doesn't lead to anything. Put theory and practice together? Should she choose this path or that one? Who knows? This question has been addressed many times, but I will remind you of a masterful answer:

Glad to have you here, welcome. Your RE partner's divorce should not be your money problem. It sounds like a bullshit excuse... even if I was getting a divorce and a lobotomy simultaneously, my partners, if I had any, would get the money due to them. Talking to a lawyer will probably help...

How to find investors for my lawn care company

    HOT!
Also, I would avoid kabbage and similar short term cash services. I looked into them, and they tell you the interest rate is say, 10%. When you look over the payment schedule and contract, which I hope you do, you find out that 10% is not annual. It's over a month, or week or something. Add it...

How to find investors for my lawn care company

    HOT!
Just curious what the paper investors at your local REIA said. No go? @JScott 's advice is good stuff. People will have to think less if you just say "I'm offering a note, $40k at 12%, 2 year term, to expand my contract lawn services business. <details of business>". You're not begging, you're...

    WeWork Sunk Cost Fallacy

The question is how they collateralize the loans. It's likely there was some negotiation here. For example, liquidation priority (sorry employees, early investors, current shareholders). Also perhaps some debt restructuring, so they get certain physical assets upon default. I don't know the...

Scaling a Service Business & Hiring a Coach

Another scaling book I like is is Scale, by Hoffman and Finkle. You can even get good scaling ideas by reading The Four Hour Work Week. Then again, you're getting caught up in analysis when you read about this stuff, so maybe you need to experiment a bit in real life. I like @Dan_Cardone 's...

How do you verify demand for your product?

Don't take this as expert advice for the food business, though I have a small amount of experience with that space. But I think some things are more or less universal, so here goes... Talk to people, cook recipes for people, see if you can get them talking to friends about it. Get a test group...
