Thanksgiving: Or How My Family Is Working To Death

    MINDSET RANT
I absolutely agree gratitude is an important and powerful part of life, so I hope it didn't come across as me mocking them for being thankful for what they have. I just see gratitude as divorced from fulfillment. In past times, a slave might be grateful they were only beaten instead of having...

Thanksgiving: Or How My Family Is Working To Death

    MINDSET RANT
The smell of turkey fills the air, the kitchen is filled with mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie, and all the other staples of Thanksgiving. The plates and silverware are set. Stomachs are growling in the overcrowded home, filled with several generations all coming together. One of the grandparents...

    How do you stay focused?

    MINDSET
I schedule my day out in google calendar. Knowing exactly what I need to do during each block of time works for me.

    In defense of the slowlane

    SLOWLANE
It really depends on what you're looking for out of life. I know, personally, that I will never be fulfilled without getting complete control of my time. I have not found any measure of success so far, but I will keep working and investing time until I find something that works. It's not...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
I wasn't aware of that, I'm not very familiar with Udemy as I just sort of ran into it today as I was researching alternatives. Fair point. I'm far enough into production that I'm going to finish it, even if it has a low chance of making any money. If I'm being completely honest, my state of...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
I appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. I'm already far enough in that I'm going to finish the course regardless. Here's a white guy teaching a rap class on Udemy, and it looks like he's doing pretty well. Over 1,000 students at ~$100 pop aint bad. Ever heard of him? Me either...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
I wanted to pair it with a paid membership forum because I think that has potential to make more money if I can build a community out of it. I want to make sure the course can sell first though. And either way once it's on udemy, I'll definitely keep it there. Thanks for the feedback. Oooooh...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
Polishing up the written materials has taken much longer than it should have. I'm working consistently, but not nearly hard enough. The written materials are really solid now and I've gotten some of the audio support ready, but I still have to create the video components. I started looking into...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
I didn't charge them because I wanted to make sure the material was effective before I started selling it. I would feel like an a**hole selling a course that hadn't gotten results of any kind for anyone. I know giving something away for free and charging for it can make a huge difference in...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
Just finished the written material and the test group, but it wasn't quite what I wanted. The students were pleasant and thanked me, but I don't think it had nearly the pop I was looking for. I DID see significant improvements from almost all of them between day 1 and 30, which is amazing to me...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
Nowwwww we're getting somewhere! Now that you've expanded a bit about your reasoning being that without star power it will be impossible to hit enough sales to make it worthwhile, THAT's a valid point. Definitely something to consider. Do you think the level of skill being taught makes a...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
Let me ask you this, why do you think my demographic is THAT cash-strapped? I see it as you stereotyping the kinds of individuals that are interested in rap music as extremely poor (probably inner city with low IQ's too). I assure you the audience interested in rap music at this time is far...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
I must respectfully disagree. It feels like you started spouting before you even read the entire OP. Rap is like any other form of art or music. You can take beginner guitar lessons can't you? Do they have to be from Jimi Hendrix for you to believe they would be helpful? There's a huge market...

    My Rap Boot Camp Business

    EXECUTION
Rap is poetry. Or at least it can be, if it's well written and the rapper understands music. In a nutshell, I want to eventually create a website with a lot of great content about how to create high quality rap music and develop yourself as an artist. This thread will document my progress and...

Any Fastlaners selling products of theirs on amazon? I have $50 to blow

    OFF-TOPIC
I don't understand how posting a link to a product you sell is dangerous. I'm not saying y'all are wrong, I'm just saying I don't follow. If you have a successful business and show others the product you're selling how does that alone give them enough information to successfully copy the...

The best day at my job

    MINDSET
The startup I work for just recently announced they would be giving stock options to all the employees. My gut reaction was extreme excitement. Stock options in one of the fastest growing start-ups? Wow! Three years from now I could have a ton of money, potentially a million dollars or more...

    I've Read The Millionaire Fastlane!

    GOLD! HOT!
Read the book. It was like all my disjointed thoughts being organized for me along with thoughts and experiences I would develop over the next 10 years if I stayed on my current path. Since time is the only resource we don't get back, thanks for the shortcut.

    Dropping out of High school?

    MINDSET
I would only drop out of high school if you already have a system in place for making money. One of the biggest mistakes I've made so far is 'trying to start a business' after graduating college, when I had no idea what I was doing and no set plan for making money. I made a bunch of stupid...

How To Best Monetize A Course?

I've got video content on both at the moment. That's an interesting idea and much bigger markets. I'll take that into consideration.
