Companies to AVOID as you succeed in your FASTLANE...

    HOT! OFF-TOPIC
I'm on a roll! Codecademy Had been using them to help studies and for CE for work for years and enjoyed brushing up on real programming and data stuff with them in 2019-2021. Bought a year of pro at a 60% discount last January to study up on Data Science. I should've looked harder at my invoice...

Exiting the cubicle farm and taking Web-Design full time

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Still at it. I've been talking to other WDs and hearing about pain points and pit falls but also about how to juice opportunity and set yourself up for success early on through processes and overdelivering. Asides that: I'm absolutely amazed right now because I am closer to being able to quit...

25, Techie – Ready To Take Control Of My Life

    INTRO
Welcome to the forum Bowzie, and good to see another techie here! For your last question about websites, there has never been a better time to be able to easily toss up facebook ads and drive them to wix landing pages or clickfunnels pages that can be made from a template in minutes- you can...

What to eat if you can't cook/fry/boil anything?

    HEALTH
Well, what are your caloric needs, and what are you main goals? Obviously, starting with complete protein should be your base, and everything after that can be figured out. When I can't cook, I usually use canned sardines/tuna as my go to as they're a complete protein with a good fatty-acid...

Have you had your "FTE"? (Or Was it an FTM?!)

    GOLD! MINDSET FTE CHAT
I used to think my FTE was just an "FTM" because I didn't magically leave my job and ascend into the moneyed-entreprenurial heavens in some rapture-like event, never having to look at a talkative middle manager again after it happened- and felt like the worst was yet to come as an employee...

    Favourite piano brand?

    OFF-TOPIC
I grew up being able to play on a nice upright piano my dad found at an estate sale. Been wanting to get back into it but have to get an electric one for space reasons. I've been staking out facebook trying to find an alesis grand recital (88 keys, polyphony, graded-hammer action to replicate...

Still with it, making more calls than ever. Outreach Changed up my approach to what Chris from ANW was using to send video audits. Since I'm not trying to force a sale people are less mean and more open and want to establish a relationship- but I'm also not finding out if they need work now and...

Trying to become an expert slows me down

    EXECUTION
The other posters hit it out of the park with discussing you just need to have a way to help someone. As an aside, I have felt for awhile that a big problem now with a chunk of people that read TMF/Unscripted is that they're young (like me) and were exposed to anti-work sentiment or felt that...

Is starting a Digital Marketing Company still a Go-To in 2023?

    MARKETING SOCIAL MEDIA WEB DESIGN
I didn't believe it going in, long before I got into FWS. Violates rules C, E, N, and T of CENTS (and maybe S for most people). It's probably one of the first things relatively un or low-skilled people run to (along with copywriting) on the freelancing journey. What changed my mind was...

    Fastlane Lessons: The WADM Framework

    BOOKS
I forgot this existed from the book- pretty useful. Wonder if MJ has a pdf/worksheet of it floating around.

Goals and resolutions: What will you accomplish in 2023?

    EXECUTION
My biggest aim is to not only get the courage to finally quit my job (Oh those steady paychecks!) but to do great work for my current clients and systematize my prospecting so I don't pull my hair out trying to dig up leads to cold call. I have work but the thought of going into the unknown has...

Godaddy Back in the day I used them to buy and park a domain. Something happened when I canceled the domain (doing due diligence and closing out the account) and they signed me up for hosting on auto-renew to the tune of 400$ a year for 1/4th what siteground offers at the same price point. I...

Stock Market Discussion, Chat About the Latest Market Action

    HOT! CHAT
Cramer claimed there could be a Christmas rally... so it's looking like the market will tank again next week. After that, it looks like banks are using the fed discount window? It seems it was only ever used around the time of financial crises, this bodes for an interesting early Q1 along with...

PLEASE! HOW can i find people with an heavy self-improvement/entrepreneur mindset????

    PEOPLE
If you're as dedicated as you say, get your parents permission and try to attend some local networking meetups. If what you're doing is a hustle, consider cold-calling for lead-gen for your business, OR to find a mentor. Cold e-mail works as well. I was blindsided by the high quality of people...

Oh my god. I know Fox is always saying "Go for the biggest budget that's reasonable". I was on the phone with a one-man businessman that regularly does 10k-150k per client. FOR SOME REASON I could only quote 1800$ and he went "1800$?!!?? That's cheap!" Have that verbal agreement and maybe...

Why Quiet Quitting Is Holding You Back in Life

    GOLD! MINDSET
I'm not, which is worse because I should be able to afford a home, a family, and all that comes with that as someone working the duties of three job positions as a professional working in America and for a VERY specialized skill and job subset within the American workforce. No, I am...

    Mail In Shoe Cleaning?

    IDEA
Kind of like how MJ and the others said, it doesn't seem like a bad idea on the face of it. Would you compare it to cobbling, or strictly shoe-cleaning? Even then, shoe cobblers (especially boots, let alone sneaker hype beasts) have been exploding on youtube. So maybe your positioning is...

Why Quiet Quitting Is Holding You Back in Life

    GOLD! MINDSET
Imo, there's a large chunk of quiet quitting that rests with self-agency. If you believe that what you do is unimportant, or believe that you are completely replaceable (See all the jobs most prone to quiet quitting: amazon floor worker, barista, fast-food worker, menial office spread-sheet bot)...
