Exiting the cubicle farm and taking Web-Design full time

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Yep Still in the desert of desertion. I """have""" proposals out for two big projects that the client agreed to and asked for proposals and invoices on... nothing back yet, have the oddest feeling they're dodging my calls- been about a month since each sales call. The only one that isn't like...

    Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas Fastlane Meetup.

    HOT! MEETUPS
Whoaaaa tap the brakes there buddy. Do we have anyone else in DFW that's interested? We used to be able to get at least 15-20 in the past, why don't we wait and see if anyone else is interested before leaping in and losing out on some fellow TFF people.

    How to fight depression?

    MINDSET
Hey bud, good job on keeping fighting. For starters, @mikecarlooch had a thread on panic attacks awhile back, which it sounds like you've had a few: MINDSET - Panic Attacks & Entrepreneurship (a Blessing In Disguise?) Beyond that, with your mindset- have you been tracking your thoughts? Like...

From $9k behind on rent to a 7 figure business! Here's how.

    GOLD! SCALING
Incredible reading through the original thread in 2020 as it is reading this update now. Want to give a heartfelt thank you for pointing out the difficulty and how scary and uncertain it was, especially back when you were almost 10k behind on rent. Even past that, just fighting and contending...

Getting My Health Sorted So I have More Energy For My Goals

    HEALTH
Hey man, more power to you for taking charge of all this! Used to be in a similar spot with the weight/poor sleep as well, but the good news is that with simple, structural changes you can basically automate yourself into the health you want. Main points: - You've done IF before, pick it up...

Best Niches For "SMMA" ("Copiers" are not allowed)

    CHAT
    1) Did you read actually TMF, Unscripted or TGRRE? 2) Did you really just come onto TFF to ask us to do your thinking for you, in a money-chasing way, for something that @MJ DeMarco himself calls money chasing? 3) Are you really actually asking us to pick out a hidden blue-ocean niche for you...

Not a european but Ryanair oddly gets brought up and outright trashed in quite a few videos I've seen be they about travel or not. Isn't their main skew just that they're incredibly cheap? I've heard a loose comparison that they're like spirit airlines but somehow worse and the flights manage...

Exiting the cubicle farm and taking Web-Design full time

    HOT! SIDE HUSTLE WEB DESIGN
Your welcome man. @BizyDad just mentioned in another post this morning that a lot of threads make it look like "One day I just started doing x and 3 months later I'm now a millionaire/self employed/andrew tate", but we don't see many threads showing the whole process with ups and lows. I knew...

Fastlane ideas are very hard to find

    IDEA
Can't be said enough. Once I started meeting local business owners and hearing their stories it couldn't be more apparent. Take inventory of your skills and work- or keep an open ear for problems. One acquaintance of mine was originally a sales rep but had a lot of family members and friends...

Alright, pretty hectic last two months and had surprises at work and something personal I'm getting worked out. Good things: - Two clients came back out of nowhere, worked on and finished the 2k$ site, the owner offered to pay more if he needed changes down the line and promised to refer me to...

Cold calling for web design clients

    EXECUTION
Hey bud, I've made about 2,500 during my breaks at work over the past 10 months. It's... it's okay but I'd highly suggesting looking for local networking groups or flexing your immediate and 2nd/3rd order network. Most of the time you're looking at a ratio of Ready/interested/not interested...

Google Unveils New Search Generative Experience. Is SEO Dead?

    CHAT
The day ChatGPT released into open access and I saw twitter threads of guys firing their SEO writing teams- followed by google's announcements with bard and Microsoft pushing their GPT into bing I sort of felt like this is where it's heading. Unsure of how google will tweak the algo in total...

Panic Attacks & Entrepreneurship (a Blessing In Disguise?)

    MINDSET
It gets overlooked alot but gut health is inextricably linked to brain health. Carnivore diets tend to improve intestinal permeablility/gut biota measure. Back when I was total carnivore I felt pretty amazing and energized 100% of the time. I still feel great energy but carbs/snacks have...

CHANGE MY MIND - Getting A Job Is Better Than "Fastlane"

    RANT
2 cents, but imo it should be: a job that you can find that you have agency or laterality in is a better temporary option. We have quite a list of cool "When I was a cubicle cretin stories here on TFF" but the pattern I see is that they usually get higher leverage positions or, by virtue of not...

An idea to generate direct traffic - what do you think?

    MARKETING
You're going to take out an ad but try to have the viewers take the time to type in your url? Does that sound like a successful tactic with people who usually dislike ads and are in a rush to find and apply to job posting?

Appreciate it Isaac, I wanted this thread to show every last bit of the WD journey, because most of the threads you may find either start from the "successful" point or gloss over the pain. Hey man, thanks for coming in and lighting me up (serious). The questions - those were after the main...

Haven't given up- I will never give up, but it's been a rough past 6 weeks. One project did come back and I locked down a month's worth of dayjob wages and I'm PRAYING he will give me large commercial referrals. Have more warm leads from earlier cold calls but with my experience so far I feel...

Panic Attacks & Entrepreneurship (a Blessing In Disguise?)

    MINDSET
Thanks for posting this man. It's nothing near easy choosing to take this path- especially as you're fighting uphill as you're starting out. I had a long talk with myself in 2019 and knew that going further into the corporate world wouldn't be right for me, so I chose to do only what was...
