    How to get a job

I got my first job by walking door to door at a strip mall and asking businesses what they needed help with. I put on some nice pants and a polo, and just told people I wanted to work. I think I only tried 4 businesses before I was hired. I was 16 at the time. Just go out there and see what...

When your family thinks your lazy/embarrass..

    PEOPLE
MJ is spot on. I have a quote hanging up at my cubicle from a post that Kak made. It says: "The problem comes when you are a talker and not a do'er. If these people see someone that doesn't even make a living on their own, how are they supposed to believe that you can do what you say and be...

ELEVATR: A simple to use idea log

    IDEA
I just found out about this today, and I thought I would share with the forum. Check out Elevatr, it is an app that helps you store and organize your ideas. Why did apple stocks cut price this week ?

    INVESTING
For example, Tesla Motors has experienced a massive surge in their stock price lately. Is it because the released a great product? Partially, but that can't account for the entire rise. People are pricing the stock based on future expectations and Musk's record. This may not be 100% accurate...

Why arent small businesses taking advantage of data?

    WEB/DIGITAL
It is my opinion that lots of small business don't have an IT structure capable of collecting and storing data in a useful form. They also don't want to spend money on something so nebulous and not guaranteed to increase sales, when they can just spend the same money on advertising or something...

Ask me anything about eCommerce (2012)

    GOLD!
I have read the entire thread and took notes, and read all the content that was linked to in this thread as well. I have a question that didn't appear in any of the prior information. I found a clothing product that is a fairly niche product. It comes in mens and womens, and I would be focusing...

How do you solve a problem when no one knows it's a problem?

    EXECUTION
Do you think that there are other reasons behind people buying really expensive gear that they don't really need? It seems to me like it could be viewed as a status symbol or icon of success, so even though they could easily be better off with something else, there are other reasons why they are...

Selling Veblen/luxury goods instead of ordinary goods?

What does everyone think about Veblen goods? For those who don't know, a Veblen good is a product that generates MORE demand when price is raised, instead of less. This is an exception to the law of demand. I was just thinking about it today, and it seems like many 'luxury' goods have really...

You may want to put a little teaser text followed by your link in the reddit post. It looks blank, and you have to click on the heading to get taken to your website. But I am not a big redditor, so I may be out of the loop on common practices.

My question that maybe gets a respond on how do i have to think differently

    1) Yourself. 2) Be a producer not a consumer, or at least start thinking like one. 3) Find pain (something that frustrates either you or someone else). The more painful the problem, the better it is because people are more likely to pay to have a painful problem solved. Then, tell the people...
