How to Get a Job - videos inspired by #AndyTalks

Here is Part 2: How to get an Interview. Why wait in a big line of applications like everyone else? Use these tips to cut the line, talk with the decision maker, and schedule your own interview. In this video I filmed in landscape mode instead of vertical, but it was a little darker so the...

How to Get a Job - videos inspired by #AndyTalks

I was inspired by Andy Black and his #AndyTalks thread. I wanted to provide some value to you guys with something that I am good at, getting a job. I do some volunteer work, and help people find jobs - and through my own personal experience I developed my own strategy to go about the whole job...

Think I'm in the wrong vehicle - Help me get my head on straight

I don't have previous experience doing this. I've tried a lot of things in the past and failed miserably, and I'm not too proud of my track record. But all my previous things have taught me skills that really lend themselves to setting up deals like this. I'm pretty good on the phone doing cold...

Think I'm in the wrong vehicle - Help me get my head on straight

Here are some examples: Connecting high-end car detailers to fancy restaurants that have valet service. Connecting wedding photographers, cake bakers, DJs, and suit rental places together to make a cheaper package deal - and give the package to wedding planners or someone similar. Connect a...

Think I'm in the wrong vehicle - Help me get my head on straight

You could take your experience with marketing and funnels, and do a joint venture relationship where you hook companies together. Maybe stay in the music industry to start since you are familiar with it? So you've got physical music supply stores, music lesson giving people, online music...

    Making $ while in College....thoughts ?

College kids at small schools in NC that happen to be Christian.... are probably very into hammocks. Currently, you probably see a lot of ENO hammocks, which are really expensive. There are plenty of similar hammocks, that are much cheaper. You might have luck selling a cheaper yet high quality...

What's your Lambo? What's your WHY or PURPOSE?

    NOTABLE! CHAT
I've shifted a lot this year in my thinking. I used to say that I wanted the giant million dollar house with the sports cars and boats. Granted, if I had the money, I would probably get some of those things. My real goal however, is to be able to pay for a ~$200,000 house, have two reliable...

I received this item free/discount in exchange for my honest review.

    HOT! MARKETING
There is a car repair youtube channel called Chris Fix. He clearly states that he buys everything that he reviews with his own hard-earned money, and I think that is one reason why he has had a lot of success. People like getting a genuine review of a product.

    Atlas Shrugged

    BOOKS
The Fountainhead is one of my favorite books. I feel like the characters aren't quite so black or white like they are in Atlas Shrugged. Roark faces a lot of setbacks that are more relatable. Also, I really loved the fact that he just does what he wants, irrespective of the money. Lots of people...

Is it worth it to pay for someone to redo my resume?

    NOTABLE!
Your resume needs to be more specific. I won't do it all for you, but here are two examples: 1 BEFORE: I oversee the helpdesk staff, provide tier 1 and 2 helpdesk and network support, and handle IT department purchasing for all four company facilities. 1 AFTER: I oversee six helpdesk staff...

Is it worth it to pay for someone to redo my resume?

    NOTABLE!
Another thing that I would recommend doing, is to take charge of the relationship. If you find a job that sounds great don't just apply to it. Here are my golden tips that I've learned through trial and error: Try to find out the company that is hiring. If the company name is listed, your job...

Lending Club Investing: Good Passive Income Source? (Answer: NO)

    NOTABLE! INVESTING
So I'm not exactly sure which borrower criteria you are allowed to take a look at, but I used to work in deep subprime auto finance. We gave loans to the riskiest populations that exist, and still made money. I worked in the risk department, so I saw the metrics that went into our custom risk...

    Interesting Hotel Scenario. Creative Solutions?

I know a lot of companies have security gates, and to even get on the premises you have to have training and certifications. Maybe you could find out the requirements of the job site, and the deliver hot lunches or something. If there is training required, you can pretty much guarantee no one...

    Interesting Hotel Scenario. Creative Solutions?

It depends on what the guys who are coming into town to work are doing. What field are they in? If they work 14 hours a day they aren't going to have time to eat lunch out somewhere, etc.

    INTRO
Here are some of my opinions, in no particular order. I am not a successful entrepreneur yet, but I don't think that means that my advice is useless. First, without discipline you can't do anything. I have learned this the hard way. You are going to reach a very crappy paradox, where you are...
