My first business mentor was Runescape

    OFF-TOPIC
I'm so glad my story resonates with so many people. It's crazy to think how something that was just a way to kill time and have fun as a kid actually provided us with such valuable knowledge and skills later in life!

My first business mentor was Runescape

    OFF-TOPIC
Oh man, who doesn't love playing the turnip market!! I had a similar strategy in RS. If you had a certain magic level you were allowed access into the magic guild. You could buy the runes there cheaper than they sold in the marketplace. I would buy thousands at a time, go to the marketplace...

My first business mentor was Runescape

    OFF-TOPIC
For the majority of my mid-teens, Runescape was my life. For those of you who are unaware, Runescape (RS) is a massively multiplayer on-line roleplaying game (MMORPG) set in a fictional world where you can roam around, performing quests, leveling skills and wasting ungodly amounts of time. The...

Should I sell at a loss?

    MARKETING
Nah I agree, was just pointing out that right now eBay sales are stronger than site sales. Just want to think of a way to redirect them to my site if they ever need to repurchase. Right now that's my priority number 1. Once I've been in business a little longer I will have more solid data to go...

Should I sell at a loss?

    MARKETING
Definitely considered it. The upside to selling through the site would be lower fees as well. I might trial the price change, I always find the psychology of pricing interesting.

Should I sell at a loss?

    MARKETING
A very logical reply. Funnily enough, I have listed the item for more on my site than on eBay. We're still only talking a few dollars of profit though. For interests sake, eBay = break even/$5 loss, website = $9 profit, however sales are much stronger on eBay for the item in particular.

    Who here is from Australia?

I've actually been making a tidy profit bringing things in from Asia then shipping back out. Not the most time effective way to do business but it works. Oh man, my poor man's Lambo would be the AE86. Feel like such an Initial D wannabe when I say it, but been loving them since the first time I...

    Who here is from Australia?

It's tough. I'm in the import business, some product margins have plummeted. Just made a thread about it actually. But if you're smart you can always stay one step ahead. Starting to export to USA/Dubai EDIT: Also, is that a Hakosuka in your avatar?

Should I sell at a loss?

    MARKETING
As of yet, no. Keeping in mind that I am just finishing my third month of business, so realistically I haven't had time to bring back return customers. The way I see it, if they come to my site for one item, surely there will be a small percentage who will look at my other items on offer. Just...

Should I sell at a loss?

    MARKETING
Hey guys, So I have an item in my store that brings in HEAPS of traffic (my highest on average) and steady sales. The problem is, competition is high, and with the AUD being weak against the USD at the moment, I barely make any profit (or even sometimes I lose) after postage/fees. The dilemma...

Quote of the Day - QOTD

    HOT! MINDSET
Some lyrics from the song "Imma Shine" by The Youngbloodz. Came on at the gym and man, resonated with me big time: If you don't believe, you don't succeed If you don't apply, you won't achieve Keep your head up high, feet down low Follow your heart til you get to the door If there's a will...

    Go To College, Why Not?

I'm just about to finish my Masters degree, and have been in university for almost 5 years now. Am I worried about wasted time and money? Nope. Here's why: - I stumbled across an awesome book called "The Millionaire Fastlane" in my second year, and started implementing strategies as soon as...
