copyrights, patents, and trademarks
Are the colors, font and logo necessary? Could somebody else come along and use just the words "The Fastlane to Millions" or would MJ own the rights to the words, only, w/out the specific colors, font, logo, etc...? Or could a travel agency whose owner's name is "Nike" open up a company called...- Merkin Man

Outsourcing Websites - Anybody Using These?
SOURCINGhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080625/ap_on_bi_ge/outsourcing_life Good article I found on Yahoo. It mentions several outsourcing websites for a variety of tasks and errands. It references and quotes Tim Ferriss and the "4-Hour Work Week" approach to outsourcing. It looks like this...- Merkin Man

A Celebrity with some class...
OFF-TOPICAgreed. Griffey's reaction in this situation not only displays class on his part, it also shows his level of professionalism toward his business. Griffey made the best out of a situation that easily could have become negative. It's nice to hear good stories about atheletes...- Merkin Man

A sad day, my avatar will change
OFF-TOPICI too shall miss that beautiful Cutlass. It always reminded of the '86 Cutlass Ciera Brougham that my mom used to drive. I learned to drive in that car (at least legally...I was driving my brother's cars when I was 11 and 12 yrs old). And the family took MANY road trips in her, too...- Merkin Man

Good 'Ole Boy Phone Companies
OFF-TOPICYou know I just spent the last half hour or so researching the lawsuits and the diminished value of the stock. I am now left to wonder if I wasn't duped? It never occurred to me that the company could be in such bad shape financially. For a guy who prides himself on staying up on the news, I...- Merkin Man

Good 'Ole Boy Phone Companies
OFF-TOPICHad no idea, actually. I haven't been following this story, at all. Good read and thanks for sharing. That's a great point you make about the "deal" I got being almost better for Vonage than me as it apparently is *cash* that the company needs *now*, not later. I have been a...- Merkin Man

Good 'Ole Boy Phone Companies
OFF-TOPICThat's funny you mention the caller-id, Ryan. I should have mentioned in my first post that along with the unlimited calling, I also receive called ID (with names), call waiting, call blocking, caller ID blocking, 3-way calling and several other options that don't even make sense to me. I...- Merkin Man

Good 'Ole Boy Phone Companies
OFF-TOPICPhone service great. The only problem I ever encounter is when the internet is down so is the phone. But at least where I live that is extremely uncommon. I haven't heard anything about them going out of business. Andy- Merkin Man

Good 'Ole Boy Phone Companies
OFF-TOPICSo I signed up with Vonage a couple of years ago to be my home phone service. To any who don't know what it is, Vonage offers telephone service to people with broadband internet connections. At the time (and still to this day I think) they were offering unlimited local and long distance...- Merkin Man

What's New?!?!?!?
MJ, Thanks again for all you have done and are doing with the forum and the growth of the website. Like many others here, I greatly appreciate it. One thing I have noticed regarding the website (not forums) articles is that the text you write is below the ads and index area, not beside it...- Merkin Man

EBooks...does anyone read them?
OFF-TOPICI have purchased two eBooks and felt the quality of the content in each of them was worthless. As I mentioned in another thread, it was as if a middle-school student wrote the book. I'm sure there are good eBooks out there. There are exceptions to anything. But unless they were coming from...- Merkin Man

Awesome New Business Model
Speed +++ Same thing goes to Yveskleinsky. I completely agree about forums. Interestingly, or at least I think so, I actually own quite a few Threadless shirts. My girlfriend found them a couple of years ago (I believe by word of mouth from a friend) and liked a lot of the designs. I...- Merkin Man

Tomorrow is not Guaranteed..
MINDSETSo true. Rep+ for the story. It seems so often that when we read of personal tragedies we look at our lives and decide "tomorrow" we will make that change. And then the next morning we wake up and do the same things we did yesterday. I hope for only the best for your father and your...- Merkin Man
