What were some of the ideas like in that book? I'm assuming their old but they still could potentially carry their weight today :p. Just like some people who revamp very old products for infomercials and get it to work!

That book was a chore and I didn't gain much from it as well. 1-2 star rating on that from me.

    Starting from not making enough

    INTRO
I recommend JNE on YouTube he just reached I believe 800k in revenue in his 4th year in biz doing softwashing/window cleaning & pressure washing. I'm pretty familiar with Josh Latimer as well and Brandon Vaughn. Interesting industry I thought I was going to get into in the past. JNE interviews...

The Wright Brothers by David McCullough (biography) Cool to see that they funded their inventions/business via their own bike shop business in Dayton. Had people trying to beat them in proving the concept first (Andrew Carnegie) and had massive backings to do so. The Wright Brothers...

from high-school to success, skipping college!

    INTRO
35+ years in Tree Service; close to a sellout (2-3 years) until the unfortunate happened (2 back-to-back practical clean-out robberies). Been looking at different industries since then (product oriented or innovative models), my parents are burnt out on Tree Service both in their 60's now and...

    INTRO
Gotcha very understandable. In our family business it's the same. Makes looking at expanding to other locations/franchising the option mainly left to fastlane. Have you read any of MJ's books? Lots of good stuff there.

UPSCALE: What do you think of my invention?

    HOT!
Perhaps a redesign with the base idea still in place could help lower the price problem. While I was thinking of different ways for the product I was trying to come up with I remembered yours and thought I might share the concept I was looking at that could help yours maybe. Instead of using...

    I've Read UNSCRIPTED!

    GOLD! HOT!
Just finished it, it is unfortunate to see some of the posts above in this thread where you guys are saying you need a bit more information and need to reread or not sure what to do with this information... I don't think anything can be handed to you more on a platter than this. There is no...

Any framework for generating business ideas?

    IDEA
I've had this in my notes for a long time and I find it to be a good framework when looking at problems. Got it from @lowtek 's thread found here; https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/a-physicists-guide-to-learning-hard-things-and-using-the-scientific-method.85350/ "Clearly...

    Labor intensive business idea

    IDEA
Do you value this idea more than pressure and soft washing? I am curious to hear your thoughts on your current industry. Pressure washing is almost like the go-to-sell/get-rich-quick scheme coming up to people for starting a small business recently. Heck on any reddit thread asking about...

    Labor intensive business idea

    IDEA
Just keep in mind franchising or chaining this would be the only way to make it fastlane. Otherwise you'll be stuck in the midst of other small businesses in the same boat. Not a bad a model to start gathering some starter funds but not something I'd probably want to go all in on.

    The brrrr method

    REAL ESTATE
I think he was @'ing the people who were asking what brrrr is. Not you. I am also suprised that they didn't know what it was though. Biggerpockets is big on this. Myself I'm nearing finding a property with a FHA loan then I may start going down this path as well just as a addon to my main...

Think about how stupid the average person is, and then realize that half of 'em are stupider than that." "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." "If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to have selfish, ignorant leaders." George Carland Nothing like a...

    MARKETING SUCCESS!
Thanks for the share biophase, I am one who cannot get over the idea that there is so much potential in innovating service industries like this. So many not thought of possible business model reworks but none paving the way quite yet. I will say I find this one pretty interesting though, so...

    Any tradesmen in here?

    HOT!
Yeah usually the problem is these people are Mom & Pop companies that aren't aspiring to do anything more. In fact there problem is having too much work and not enough good employees. I'd be willing to bet probably that they are similar to me and don't even advertise anymore and have a lined...
