My HARO publications
MARKETINGIf your replies aren't getting many responses as is, I don't think making them more generic is the way to go. Every single positive response I did was because I put so many 'sound bites' in the email.. that it was easy for the reporter to use it without needing to get back to me. Using the...- DennisD

My HARO publications
MARKETINGAlright, so I've been checking HARO again now that I've built a landing page to take advantage of it. Haven't seen many golden opportunities. 2 days ago I responded to an anonymous request that turns out belongs to inc.com. They didn't inform me that they used me... I found out through analytics...- DennisD

PEOPLEIsn't this just about priority management? Yes the business is doing great and keeping you both busy, but are you really getting your top notch work done without some alone time together? Is the business self sustaining yet? Can you outsource any of the work to make both of your schedules more...- DennisD

Craigslist Help? How much should I pay a cameraman hired from Craigslist?
PEOPLEIt depends on the students and what school they go do. I went to a school where my instructors actively work in the industry. Many of them work for PBS, some are producers, some work for local news, some own their own production companies, etc. The teachers ALWAYS drilled into our heads not to...- DennisD

Three Product Ideas
IDEAThese are some ideas I had the past week kicking around my head. I'd love to do all of them when I get the funds and time... and I will if I can put my current ventures on autopilot fast enough (next 3-5 years) but you're completely free to take these and run with them if you can get to it...- DennisD

Craigslist Help? How much should I pay a cameraman hired from Craigslist?
PEOPLEI assume you mean $20(no $02) for a cameraman. I've been a camera for hire and also hired camera people before. It all depends on what you want done. Do you want a camera person that's trained to automatically position themselves with their back to the sun? Because somebody trained like that...- DennisD

Making The Best Of A Point And Shoot Camera
Great stuff! Lighting is THE MOST important thing here. NEVER use flash. To minimize glare and harsh shadows, used diffused light. (Diffused light = Bouncing light off of a white surface.) Depending on sensitivity of the make/model of your camera sensitivity different lights give off different...- DennisD

8 Eyewear: From Idea, to Launch, to Growth (And Quitting the Job)
IDEAI'm really excited for this. I'm pumped. I have no doubt the road you're on is THE one to go down. You've built an entire BUSINESS to fund this venture. You KNOW it's a good idea, as do we all. There IS a need. There are markets out there that are WAITING for this type of thing. You're a F*ckin...- DennisD

Waiting on others. How to remain productive?
PEOPLEThis is something I have to deal with every single day. Video work is VERY slow, because it's so expensive and they need to run it by EVERYBODY. Especially with larger clients. Somebody hires me to do a gig. I send them a script, and they have to run it by EVERYBODY. A few days later, they...- DennisD

Martial Art's Startup. Ideas for internet startup?
IDEASo as for the workbook, take a look at what P90X is doing. I don't own the system, but I remember that one of their packages includes a LOT of printed stuff. Food plans, Workout checklists, diagrams of proper positions, a Q+A, etc. So while you'd have your full training on DVD.. you can create...- DennisD

Martial Art's Startup. Ideas for internet startup?
IDEANinja School? Sounds dope. You want a DVD course with "handbooks". Handbook differs from ebook by being more about practical application. Checkboxes, quick refreshers, training outline, meal plans, etc. I did martial arts through grade school, and into high school before I quit (my mother and...- DennisD

I feel like this needs to be said.
MINDSETHere's my take on it: The Millionaire Fastlane, as a book.. wasn't lifechanging. It wasn't eye opening for me, like it was to some people. However, it was a PERFECT manifestation of how I believed the world to work. It perfectly stated EVERYTHING I thought about business... but gave specific...- DennisD
