I quit my job and bought a shoe store

    EXECUTION
Edited: I was originally asking about current POS and pricing as reference, but forget it. When you visit other small businesses in your area, see what they are using and ask for feedback on the pros/cons. I have some friends with a retail store using Clover (POS System & Credit Card Readers...

QUESTION: Athletic ad arbitrage--asinine or advantageous?

    IDEA QUESTION
No worries. What you're talking about is called a 'dynamic ad insert'. They work in two different ways for traditional broadcast. Either they can detect the 'fade to black' between the commercials and the ads, or some can detect inaudible 'cue tones' that trigger the break. You're going to...

QUESTION: Athletic ad arbitrage--asinine or advantageous?

    IDEA QUESTION
There may be something to explore with that, but you need to think it through some more. As background, I work in broadcast media and have for the past 22 years. I've owned my own company designing and building A/V systems for broadcast facilities, sports venues, surgical suites, remote...

Would now be the time to create new entertainment media for the western market?

    QUESTION
If you think there's an opportunity, get on social media and test it. Create content and find your audience. Really low barrier to entry here, so do it.

Building a $30k p/m revenue business with Cold Email

    EXECUTION
Snapshop stats on their About Us page "We're now trusted by over 400,000 aussies and along the journey have held Australia's most exciting promotions with the help from our partners with over 350 total prize winners" ...or ~$8M/mo. Not a bad gig for a business that started in 2018

Building a $30k p/m revenue business with Cold Email

    EXECUTION
Interesting. While not entirely the same, have you checked out lmctplus from Australia (lmctplus.com)? The guy is making a killing. It's a subscription 'loyalty program' where for a $20/mo subscription he offers deals from over 1000 businesses that partner with him. There's a giveaway component...

Maybe I'm missing it, because I haven't read the other thread, but what needs are you serving with this? Or are you just spamming people to get cheap and potentially crappy leads in order to monetize?

Yeah that's why I'm on Kobo Plus (eBooks and Audiobooks). Check out the Onyx Boox lineup. They run an Android OS. I'm sure not all apps will work given the limited refresh rates of e-ink, but it's a start.

I agree about the Calibre recommendation. The UI looks dated but it's feature rich. Someone on Reddit was talking about updating the UI, but I don't think it ever materialized. Note: Opportunity here. I installed Calibre on my home NAS server using Docker and can access my library from anywhere...

Checking In…. On my way to 1 million in sales

    NOTABLE! EXECUTION
Congrats on the progress! What's the revenue split in terms of maintenance vs design build. I suspect it's heavily skewed to the design build side?

What to eat if you can't cook/fry/boil anything?

    HEALTH
To make any healthy cooking habits stick, you need to adopt good habits and stick with them. This means you need to overcome your fear of judgement from people in your family, overcome the obstacles of a messy kitchen, overcome the distraction from others. Overcoming may mean tackling issues...

New Member From Toronto/Berlin - Quit Software Sales - Beat Depression - Here to Grind

    INTRO
Congrats on taking some action and writing a book. As MJ can attest, those efforts can often run way longer than your expected timelines. Good for you that you can see the finish line ahead! I'm not sure that I fully understand your plan (Steps 2, 3 and 'falling in love with the vision') since...

What would you tell a current 18-year-old tax intern?

    INTRO
Welcome to the forum. What are your goals? Aside from not living in a cubicle for 40 years what is it you want for your life? You seem to want to stay in accounting and transition to a 4 year program. Establish that future vision first. Then build a plan that can realistically get you to those...

Signed a lease on a shop (Service Shop in the Auto Industry)

    NOTABLE! HOT! EXECUTION
I know a few guys that have high-end shops that work on race cars and street cars. For some services like yours they do it themselves, but have you thought about trying to align yourself with shops like these to handle that end of the business for them? As you said early on, your goal is to be a...
