    A summer experiment at hustling

    EXECUTION
I've mostly been finding items on craigslist and then selling on ebay. I've done a little bit of looking around at local thrift stores and salvation armies but I don't know if it's New York City or all those reality tv shows showing how much junk can sell for but the prices have been pretty...

Decent, but not great. I could give a bunch of excuses, computer died, my jobs been irritating me and bleeding into my non-job time but mostly I have just been unfocused and scatterbrained for the past month. As of this morning I'm just under $400 dollars off of six transactions.

    Gullible MLM junkies. SOS

    GOLD! MINDSET
I thought I'd share this. Last night at my job a man that could be best described as probably homeless approached me and asked if he could charge his cell phone. I was feeling generous so I said sure and went back to work. He's lingering around where I'm working and his phone is charging and...

    A summer experiment at hustling

    EXECUTION
Found a second item today, shot off an email offering quite a bit less than it was being posted for. A few hours later the seller got back to me and said sure. Picked it up on my way home from work, had to walk an extra few minutes to swing by the guys apartment building. Spent maybe a total...

I'd recommend working on your resume and focusing your efforts on finding a better job. There is nothing more that anyone can do for you here.

Someday soon I'll start a real progress thread. But for now this is inspired (ripped-off?) from @RichKid's thread about buying and selling on craigslist. I was reading that thread when I was visiting my mom about a month ago and it inspired me to sell a bass amp I had stashed away at her house...

    Dead-End Sh*t Jobs ... Yours?

    NOTABLE!
I've had so many shit jobs over the years, I'll just share some highlights Dunkin' Donuts - learned to clean chewing gum off of asphalt and how degrading it was to clean the tiles of a vestibule with a toothbrush during a weekend morning rush. I should have learned here to just never work for...

You're missing the right mindset. You are just looking for an excuse to give up. So quit and you can at least feel good that you were right all along-- it is just too difficult. The whole road is going to be difficult and the only way you'll win this game is by not giving up. Life is going...

    What was your first job?

    HOT!
I think I got my first paper route when I was eight or nine, because I wanted to buy some comic books and my mom told me to earn the money myself if I wanted them. My first time-clock job was at 14 working at a Dunkin' Donuts, that job should have been enough to tell me that working for...

The books in the challenge have many more lessons in them than just how to be a good copywriter.

Just start calling some people find some pains and then start brainstorming if common complaints can be solved, worrying now that the problems might not be able to be solved is a worthless worry.

Another year older today. I succeeded in getting myself mentally better. Now this year it's all about getting down to business.

I don't know if @csalvato saw my reply right before the one he posted or not, but here is another example of what you can do, look for something half-assed that might have a small amount of value (like my post) and make your own awesome version of it filled with some kick-a$$ value (like his post).

Dude, you're a telemarketer, you are probably more comfortable calling people up cold on the phone than the average person. Get on the phone and start calling some companies up, finding their pain points, making connections. It costs nothing to do that, and hell even if you don't end up with...

    Succeeding without network/money/knowledge/education

    RANT
OP, you said that you've helped friends with learning how to pick up women, and you mentioned that you could offer coaching on that, I think you just answered your question about where to get your money to back other ventures. I don't know where you are from, but I know that in NYC there are...

Gary Halbert 30 day challenge Copywriting Group

    HOT! MARKETING
I think the interesting thing to note in the Tim Ferris article is at the very end: If used for study, it is recommended that you not read 3 assignments in the time it would take you to read one, but rather, read the same assignment 3 times for exposure and recall improvement, depending on...

Thirty days is tough to do this in. Especially when you get to the end of writing out the ads and see that you're only half way through the challenge and Gary is telling you to read all the books a second time.

    Should I Publish My Poetry?

    PUBLISHING
One book of poetry has done really well in the past year all because of the author's brilliant use of tumblr and twitter to market herself.

    Printing Paperbacks

    PUBLISHING
Cafepress and a lot of other places that will print books for you have the problem that the books look like self-published vanity books. The way they print the covers has a cheap look to them that screams don't take me seriously. Createspace prints books that look much better in my opinion...
