    Lifestyle design help

    MINDSET
take my perspective with a grain of salt because I like to spend my time nerding out doing computer shit, reading philosophy books, hitting the gym, spending time with friends & loved ones, then spending time on the water. But I remember reading one of your posts a few weeks / months ago about...

MJs 1/2/3 Marriage Strategy: When to Get Married...

    GOLD! PEOPLE
great post @MJ DeMarco I'll also throw in a "when to have kids" heuristic that I picked up from someone else - "How old do you want to be when your kids are adults?"

Struggling to Stay Consistent with Workouts – Looking for Advice

    HEALTH
Just do this routine: https://www.bowtiedox.io/p/12-week-push-pull-legs-program-preview Plan your workout the night before. Put them in a note taking app on your phone. I use Apple notes now but I used to use Evernote (which sucks now but it gets the job done). Store the workout notes in a...

The Architecture of Learning Software/Web Development

SAAS / APPS WEB DESIGN QUESTION
If you want to dive into full stack development out of the gate to build a dashboard, you could use a SaaS boilerplate like SaaS Pegasus | The Python / Django SaaS Boilerplate and build the dashboard with plotly or d3.js

I picked up a philosophy book for the first time in months (Gile Deleuze - An Introduction by Todd May). I liked this particular section and wanted to share it. The dice are thrown. This is the eternal return. The dice are always thrown, at every moment, at every instant. The future is always...

The Architecture of Learning Software/Web Development

SAAS / APPS WEB DESIGN QUESTION
Do you need a full web app for this? If by graph you mean bar charts and the like, you could just make something with Google's looker studio (free) and invite people. Apparently Word Press has a membership feature, so you could let people that way, and just manually add them (or use Zapier /...

    HOT! CHAT
this kid created a browser app that helps people cheat on their software engineer interviews. He used it to get internship offers with a few big tech companies. He made some YouTube videos showing how he did it, which Amazon did not like, so they snitched to Columbia (his university). He got...

rant: if you feel overly happy, sad, angry, desperate, or really feel any emotion too strongly - for all practical purposes you're basically drunk and not seeing the world clearly

Is it okay for me to build 2 business-es at the same time?

    EXECUTION RANT
You could probably do both. You can make the tallow skin care by hand, set up a shopify store, then run some FB ads to it. I don't think that would require much of a time investment from you until you start getting a lot of orders. See if you can get some pretty girls to shill it for you on...

'Maybe We Do Need Less Software Engineers': Sam Altman Says Mastering AI Tools Is the New 'Learn to Code'

    NEWS
I take everything that silicon valley people say with a grain of salt because they stand to make a bunch of money by making these claims. Writing code is just one aspect of developing software. AI is a huge multiplier for a lot of skills if you have a good understanding of the skill, but it...

Anyone using Zapier? What cool Zaps have you setup?

You could probably use MailGun or SendGrid as alternatives. They are fairly simple to set up, though take my perspective with a grain of salt since I'm a software developer and I do software integrations all the time.

Anyone using Zapier? What cool Zaps have you setup?

you can set up a Slack app to have zapier send messages to when you get website signups (or whatever contact method you use). You can pass prospect name & contact info. If they use a business email, you can also get the domain and look up their website and have AI summarize what they do.

This is a F*cking great post - it's a perfect example of how knowing your company's numbers can give you so many opportunities. Good job on getting your guys to track their average visit so you can even calculate the 2 minutes saved per job.
